  The Blue Whale is an awesome spot to bring a date or just lounge low-key, it is so chill here! If you love jazz then you gotta check this place out at least once.
  
  Parking isn't great so I gotta give 4 stars instead of 5. If you are real lucky you might find a metered spot on the street. They have a nice drink selectionI recommend it for sure, area is slightly sketchy at night so just be aware of that ladies.

  Intimate and artsy space for jazz fans to gather. I ordered an old fashioned and it was pretty good for $12. Therefore, I'm assuming their cocktails are decent. Acoustics were great! There is seating close up and personal to the stage as well as seating tucked far away in the back for introverts who wish to people-watch and enjoy jazz in solitude. Totally recommend this spot.

  Great jazz venue, sound is great all round the venue. No nasty reflections and all instruments were present and correct in the various spots I listened at both near field and out at the bar.
  
  Can't say the bar staff were overly friendly but other than that the vibe here is great.

  Where do I begin Real jazz clubs are a dying breed in LA (rest in peace, Piano Bar). Fantastic drink selection, intimate, well designed space Fantastic lineup of shows pretty much every night.
  If you're looking for a jazz spot in Los Angeles, stop looking and stop by bluewhale. Don't wait as long as I did!

  My cousin has an associate who plays in a band "Catalyst" and they jam this bar. The atmosphere is really cool all types of people were at this bar. I really enjoyed myself the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Cool for all ages if you're into jazz and live bands.

  A welcoming and intimate jazz joint in the heart of downtown LA. A walking distance from my office; so a good place to enjoy good jazz for the soul while the freeway traffic eases off. The food is tasty and the staff is quite welcoming and happy to have you swing by. Oh, by the way, music is always world class.

  Visited LA and came through for two shows. Really like this venue. It's a DIY vibe and nice people. Always make new friends and get inspired. My only constructive criticism is that it gets really hot inside. Also, the room is a bit bright for me. I would definitely invest in some new mics and acoustic treatment.
