  We have been going to Lake Hope camping for 40+ years. Always have a wonderful time. Swimming area is nice and the hiking trails are adventuresome.

  This is one of the most beautiful natural places in Ohio. Forest, hills, fields and caves. Free gun range. Go during the week and you'll likely have the place to yourself. Excellent fishing and hunting. Beware wild boar.

  Great place to hike. Bring your sticks. Plenty of ups and downs but if in shape, can complete lower trail in a long afternoon. Technically easy. Athletically easy. Well marked trail. Potable water available. Sufficient primitive campsites if staying overnight.

  My friends and I went for a two day, one night backpacking trip and for the most part we had fun. Unfortunately it poured down rain and by the time we got to our campsite there was no good firewood around (the other campers scavenged it all). None of these things were the forest's fault, of course.
  
  The scenery was beautiful, our vehicles were left alone in the parking lot over night, and there was a water source close to the campsite. We would have been screwed without that spicket! I'd go back, if I knew for sure it wasn't going to rain.

  The connection to the north loop is completely unmaintained, with a bridge that ends in the middle of a toxic stream. Also the acid mine drainage is a pretty serious problem down there and outright disgusting - coming across a stream with bright orange water certainly wasn't our idea of a nature hike.

  Great place to drive through, kayak, or hike. The Lake Hope Lodge has wonderful food at it's Sunday brunch, too.

  Great place to hike. The trails are well maintained and marked well. Level of difficulty is moderate. Beautiful area in the southern part of Ohio. Lots of things to do in this area. Close to Athens Ohio, Lake Hope Sate Park and Hocking Hills. Lots of local history. Great place to visit if you love nature.❤
