There are some good professors, you just gotta look for them. Some of the office worker have attitude. But recently i have met with people that actually want to help. Environment is changeing i guess. Cafe food, found a piece of metal in my pizza

Professors are ok. Howerver, most of them have Big classes, less time to answer questions and emails. Bathrooms are filthy. Elevators are out of order most of time. The service System does not run as well as other schools, specially financial aid office who misled you to take 12 selfpaid credits and admition office, where they charge you commitment fee in case you don't take class there. Disappointing experiences!!!

I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not enrolled at york college and thank god that I'm not. I signed up for a summer program pharmacy technician course that costs $1,499.00. I paid $1,500.00 and was told that I won't be able to receive my 1.00 back. I know it may seem strange but this offended me very much because even though it was a dollar, it was my dollar that I worked hard for. The person that I gave the check to even went as far as making a joke about it. I requested in writing for a refund via email and was told that my check would be returned within four to six weeks. It has now been two months and I have not received my refund. So if anyone is looking to sign up for a program at york college I would advise you not to have any reason to cancel the course because you will be waiting a long time to get your money back.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews about York. I have a 40 year history with the school dating back to the 1970's when I was just starting out. There was no campus at that time, classes were held in rented spaces in South Jamaica. That really didn't matter because what separated York from all the other CUNY schools was the people. I met some amazing friends and was taught by people who changed my life. I recently graduated with a second degree from York after having a wonderful career as a NYC teacher. The school looks a lot different now with a big beautiful campus, where once stood vacant lots. One thing hasn't changed though - There are some of the nicest young men and women and some of the best teachers I have ever encountered at York College..

The people who works there are so rude and arrogant that it seems like they own the whole college. Won't let you speak and shout at you even if you ask something simple. Wanted to transfer there but don't want to study in a negative environment

Terrible workers. they all seem they do not want to work there. I try to transfer from other college to York, took me more than 5 times just going back and forth with them. the paperwork I handed in they told me other department need it also, so instead they talk with other department, I have to go back and hand them the hard copy. The worker there never want to deal with anybody for more than few minutes. When they get frustrated, they just say "you are done with me here!" Anybody looking for applying, look else where, unless you want to deal with these admin people.

This is one of the best schools under CUNY! The campus is really clean and huge. I attended there in their Auditorium in a program of "Prothom Alo" to take pictures. Their auditorium is so huge, and looks good. Well decorated campus.

The lessons learned from York is priceless. Great and understanding professors with hard working students. It has the oldest and most neglected facilities of all CUNY System (attended York, John Jay College, Brooklyn College and alumni of Lehman College). Everyone who is behind the horrible condition of the college should be ashame. The tution is the same for all of the colleges but #CUNYYorkCollege look like its free, it will cost you $6,330 per year plus the cost of books. Shame on Marcia V. Keizs president of the college for her lack of leadership. The science lab routine does not have enough supplies and the technology is prehistoric. The campus is clean but the school look the same as it was when I attended from 2001 to 2002.

This is a very clean school but looks sort of antique. The students and faculty are super friendly. There is ample parking and shops nearby. It isn't that big but it's cute.

If you know how to maneuver yourself through this school it is not so bad. The professors are actually great and supportive. The problem is dealing with the school administration! I dare you to attempt using the phone numbers provided on the website for the Registrar or Bursar office! You can leave messages but no one will answer your back. The only way to get anything done is to physically go to the school and be resilient!! I once had the experience of having to go between the offices, no joke, 7 times. The staff will not explain what the problem is, they will just send you to the next office, who in turn will not explain the problem and direct you to go somewhere else. They are also terrible when it comes to scholarship money and loan reimbursements. It is really frustrating to deal with them!

The campus is really old, dirty, and unkempt. Oh and whatever you do, DO NOT EAT IN THE CAFETERIA! IT IS NOTORIOUS FOR RATS!!

This is literally the worst CUNY college there is. I only lasted for one semester; from the very beginning York showed how horrible it was.
From enrollment, York's healthy administration was rude, pompous and miserable people. They would have attitudes when I tried to turn in the health report from my doctor, I just gave up turning it in. The area is horrible and there are creepy students attending the college; I have never before heard of so many arrests happening in one place before. York was the first.

Their professors are horrible too. My English professor taught us more history than English and I've never felt more unprepared for a test in my life. My Philosophy professor is a hypocrite and, like my English professor is a bully. He claims that it's all right if the students don't understand the material, but it isn't. He is more concerned with forcing us to understand something majority don't, than making sure we learn.

My French professor is also horrible. She is disorganized in her teaching, too fast to keep up with and just unclear. She disrespects the students by telling us we should kill ourselves over a bad quiz grade. She never made sure the students really understood the lessons either, she just taught us because she was paid to do it. She could belittle the class every time she had us; twice a week for an hour. The rest of the semester of her classes were just trash because she wanted to hold a grudge and, literally, make our lives worse than it already was. She has no remorse for other classes the student is taking; she believes her class is a priority and should be treated as so; IT IS NOT.

York has made college the worse experience for me so far. I truly detest most of their faculty and administration. I only enjoyed my Psychology, Geology and Humanities classes and the Public Safety administration. My professors for those classes and Public Safety really got me through the semester and showed me the very little hope there is left for York.

PLEASE, DO NOT COME TO THIS COLLEGE! IT IS SEXIST, RACIST, THE CAMPUS IS DISGUSTING, SOME PROFESSORS ARE HORRIBLE AT THEIR JOB, THE CLASSES ARE NONSENSE OR TOO DIFFCULT!! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR TRANSFER OUT ASAP, DO NOT REMAIN IN THIS COLLEGE!

I thought the negative reviews were too harsh, THEY ARE NOT! I truly believed that I would have a better experienced than what was described for me, BUT THEY ARE TRUE! THEY ARE HONEST! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM!
