This is hands down the best sushi in southern NJ!!! Clean, quick, friendly service. My daughhters love the food and the family who runs it even more :) The rolls, miso soup, and bento boxes are our favs.
This is by far the best place to satisfy your sushi craving. I found this place by accident and decided try it. Wonderful service the waitress was very sweet and helpful to my friend who couldn't decide what to order. Everything was just so delicious the Green Tea is even roasted with brown rice. We had The best dinning experience. Very affordable, I can't wait to go back!
Quick fitting and reasonable price
Best sushi ever! My favorite is the incredible roll with brown rice
We Love Yama! All their food is excellent and their service is great! Terrific prices too!
This place never makes mistakes on my orders. Don't listen to Andrew (previous review); I was a regular here and if you knew the owner, Helen, she would give the best deals and is always nice to me. the original sushi chef, Gary, had back problems and couldn't keep working. There are actually two chefs, and one has been working there since the place opened. He works in the kitchen and his name is steve. I'm assuming that Andrew had a bad experience from the time he made his review because that was when the new sushi chef, Jackie, was just starting out.
They have the biggest variety of special rolls than any other sushi restaurant. Plus, about 25 of them are 7.75 which is cheap for special rolls. Their spicy mayo sauce unlike anything I ever had. I recommend trying it in their valentine roll.
Although the place doesn't deliver, they believe eating the sushi as fast as possible to keep the fish fresh so they recommend dining in. They really take pride into keeping the dining area and kitchen clean.
Great sushi, always above average quality. Prices are definitely reasonable for what you get.
Love it here! I live 20 mins away and I'm still here atleast twice a month. So worth it.
This place used to be great. It appears to have been sold in the last 6 weeks to 2 months and now has different staff including a different sushi chef. The sushi rice that had not even been washed, let alone vinegared in the appropriate preparation. A good palate could taste the starch, and I have an excellent palate. Very disappointed.
To begin, you get nice scented, moist, warm towels which was an appreciated touch. The food was ok, my yakitori seemed just barely cooked through. The gyoza were decent. Hibachi entrees had minimal meat and the only veggies were squash and literally four slices of carrot between two plates. If it were just the food though, I would have left it at 4 stars. But we came at 8:30 and the staff were already eating and cleaning up - ready to leave. They hovered and seemed in a rush to go the entire time. Making our meal feel very claustrophobic and rushed.
Gary and Amy, owners of Haru provide wxcellant service and quality Japanese cuisine. Their sushi is the best in the area. Diners can adventure through the menu and be assured of a delicious experience.
