The purpose of our organization is to promote and support women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In this country, there is an unequal ratio of men to women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). According to a 2009 study by the U.S. Department of Commerce, women only hold 24% of STEM jobs, despite making up 48% of the workforce in all jobs. The Women in STEM club will build a community to support women in STEM fields, as well as encourage more women to get involved. In addition, the club will promote communication and networking between women in STEM fields.
