I've been to the WMH many times in the past. A simply fascinating place! Due to covid they are now offering socially distanced self-guided tours. What a unique way to see the mansion! Guides are available throughout the tour if you get lost!

Cool spot if you’re looking for something to do! This is not any means a mystery house, it definitely is more of a historic tour. The house is fascinating with the architecture, tiny stair steps, and ghost sightings. Sarah, the owner, was a very unique and special woman so learning about her life was interesting. Tickets are around $43 so it was expensive for the experience we received. Entrance employees were pretty rude but everyone else was friendly and fun to talk with!

The house has been beautifully maintained. The self guided tour has prerecorded information about the house. They also have staff that can answer questions and provide additional information. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic about the house. We loved it.

Tour Date: 9/13/2020. It was a self-guided tour, with audio recordings throughout certain locations. Limited staffing giving assistance at key locations with their stories. Very interesting historical museum of Sarah Winchester's home. No cafeteria or axe throwing. Make sure you visit the Winchester's product museum in the souvenir store. Did you know they made shoe skates?

The actual mystery house to beat all mystery houses. There are two tours, the second one of 2 and a half hours. But the one hour tour of 110 rooms is more than enough to give you the spooky feeling of the paranormal interacting with this world. A must visit if you are in San Francisco or nearby areas. Even a thriller movie has been made on this House and will release in Feb 2018. This House is the premier showcase of Santa Clara and they have done a good job of maintaining this heritage site.

The coolest and most unexpected experience. My perspective is a bit different and may offend some; however, the house was not much of a mystery to me because of the continuous construction going on during Mrs. Winchester's life. The intricate details throughout are beautiful and fun. The recurrence quantity 13 in many places of design may suggest references to specific beliefs, which was intriguing.

Behind the scenes offered some really cool views.

My one complaint is that they do not let you take any photos during tours inside the estate; however, if you are there for a private party you can take photos, this was very disappointing.

Went on the Halloween Candlelight Tour, and I must say, it war very well done. I had been to a couple "haunted houses" earlier in the week, but none were all that great.
The staff here were very lively and entertaining and did an excellent job of telling a historical story while still keeping the spooky settings.
Although I can't really speak for the normal for, the house in general was interesting, but nothing too fascinating that I might go again. I'd still highly recommend their limited-time Candlelight Tour.

A bucket list must. The place is incredible. You have to see it for yourself. Preferably before Winchester the movie comes out in theaters. It may become even more popular and crowded. It's best to buy your tickets ahead of time. Once purchased online, you can skip admission line and go straight to the tour entrance.

If you enjoy the regular tour you should absolutely try the explore more tour. You get to see rooms that have not previously been open to the public.

The regular tour takes you through a wide variety of rooms and provides a fascinating history of the house. If you haven't taken the tour you absolutely should! Personally I would pass on the candlelight tour, I found it to be a half-hearted attempt at a Halloween tour.

I've been to this place at least 4 times over the years and it's super cool every time. The story of Mrs. Winchester and the often bizarre architecture are great. Beyond the ghosty side, Mrs. Winchester was actually quite ahead of her time and treated her employees super well and it's cool to see that on the tour.
Today we got Kylie for our "Explore More" tour and she was beyond awesome, great personality! It's a limited time add-on tour that takes you through some never before open to the public rooms, so that was really cool and you get to wear hard hats. Gotta get back there to try the flashlight and candlelight tours though, I bet those are incredible fun.

Pleasurable experience overall. Beautiful grounds and fascinating structure. Was totally fun learning about the Winchester idiosyncrasies. The tour-guides, while very pleasant and polite, seemed to be a bit "off" with their scripts. As if they've done this so many times, it's lost its panache. When they weren't sticking to their scripts, they were much more animated and "alive" when answering questions. Definitely worth a visit. I did the "even more" tour which was nice, but can be done without.I don't think I've gained anything extra from it that enhanced the visit more than had I just done their regular tour.

Beautiful architecture and such fine details in the house. The tour is pretty pricey- I'd recommend searching for any available coupon codes online. If you go during the summer take some kind of portable fan. It will be HOT. The people and tour guides are nice- they do stick to a script. Not scary at all/kid friendly- though you will be walking and listening for about an hour.

I love touring old mansions but this was by far the coolest I've been to. It is such a quirky home with interesting history. Even my brother who isn't usually into these types of places seemed to enjoy it. Our guide Ginger was great. You could tell she loved her job. Just wish you could take photos inside. They even honored the expired coupon we had gotten in a travel brochure 2 days earlier. Great experiece.

This was my third time at the Winchester house and I've enjoyed every single one of my tours. I always learn something new on each visit! We went on the hour long Mansion tour which I felt was perfect for our group's needs. I've also taken the flashlight tour which gives the house a different ambiance as you explore the home in the dark. So if you're in the area close to Halloween, that might be a good tour to take. In the summer I recommend going in the morning since the house isn't air conditioned. There's a gun museum on the property, as well as a pretty garden area to walk around in.

Happened upon the Winchester House while looking for something to do with one day in San Jose. I am so glad that I did!!! Such an interesting back story and tour of this home. Worth every penny of the admission price. Our tour guide Tristan was awesome and lively making the tour breeze by. I am so excited for the movie to come out.

I def didn't think it was spooky, though I only took the vanilla mansion tour as opposed to one of the "scarier" tours. It's a beautiful and interesting house though, and certainly mysterious in its design. Tour guide was gregarious, well-informed, and had a sly sense of humor.

While I don't any affection for firearms, I do have a great affection for architecture and if it happens be wacky architecture perpetrated by a kooky old lady (or man) with massive piles of money to carry out their every bit of whimsy - dude, I am so there.

There are two tours, depending on your level of interest/enthusiasm. I took the Grand Tour which is both the mansion and the outbuildings which show the operations side of a massive estate. Both tours are about an hour and involve a lot of stairs. One of couples in my group had fairly young children with them and they had a tough time keeping them corralled and entertained, so I would not call this a kid-friendly activity.

This is a major tourist attraction in the San Jose area and it is efficiently run, similar to visiting Hearst Castle. Order tickets online and expect lines.

The Grand Tour takes approx 3 hours, making it - yes - a Three Hour Tour. Thanks, I'll show myself out(only people of a certain age will get that.)

It's an unusual part of Americana. Tour guides are well trained. Since we'll never go there again we took the extended behind the scenes tour which I recommend. No photography inside (plenty available on Google images) but is permitted in their extensive gardens.

Loved walking through the house and the gardens. I brought my husband and our 4 yr old and 8 month old. Luckily my boys are pretty well behaved and able to walk through the 65 min tour with out a problem. They do have someone come for you if at any time you need to step away from the group so you don't get lost. You can rejoin after if you need to. Cate or Kate was put guide, she did a great job.
