We absolutely adore coming into this place! It is a wonder of our favorite nature centers. I love having the opportunity to see birds up close. The new edition of the raptor center will be fantastic.
We have also had the chance to bring a duck that had a broken wing to Willowbrook and they took care of it and re-released it to the wild.
Great place to see a huge variety of birds and other animals. Fun nature trails to walk and very family friendly.
We've been watching a Cardinal nest in a tree next to our driveway for a few weeks. The nest and 5 tiny babies fell out this morning. The directions through the Willowbrook Wildlife message center were detailed, clear and easy to follow, with respect to what to do to try to save the birds. It has been about 3 hours, fingers crossed, but 5 babies and parents are back in the tree, and appear to be recovered from this morning's mayhem. Great instructions and thanks to Willowbrook!
Wonderful place! Great for families to see native animals (owls, bald eagle, raccoons, etc.) and the walking trail is gorgeous. They also care for sick/injured/orphaned wildlife behind the scenes and rerelease them back into the wild
They usually kill most animals to cut medical cost. Don't take injured wild animals there unless it's a VERY minor injury.
I have been here any of times, & today I have to say I was very disappointed with the way one of the staff talked to our group. We were there on a field trip with special ed students who were have a good time looking at the animals. It's a outside place so kids should noy have to be totally quite. The staff member rudely yelled at the us to keep to keep our students quite so the the public people could hear him. Are we not public people!!! That was totally uncalled for.
Super sweet staff who were very informative and caring for an orphaned fox squirrel in our landscape construction project. Call their hotline for great info about how to care for overnight and transport orphaned animals to their facility.
👍Very informative for children. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Cool animals. Kids liked it. Was able to touch a dove. Common animals uncommonly close.
Bring the kids! See the animal up close in the outdoor areas. Nice easy walking for young, old, and wheelchair accessible
This wildlife center has taken in rescued animals from me and friendswith great resultsspecifically, a baby squirrel found in the neighbor's garage, 2 baby ducklings whose mother was found dead, injured birdsand when released you will receive a notice that the animal is returned to nature. Only creatures unable to fend for themselves are kept in the center. Children love it! Schools love to bring the children to the exhibits. Great placebeen there forever! As far as a previous old post about the facility, I find it well managed and safe - otherwise I'm sure the schools would have nothing to do with it.
