This place is simply amazing. It's within 5 minutes of the entrance to the park. Parking is within75 ft of the campsite. There's a little bridge that crosses the creek from the parking spot. There's enough parking for roughly 10 cars. There are five large flat tent sites. Don't worry about having enough space. You can always pitch tents on the grass all over the place.
Couple down sides: It has no running water. Bring your own water. It does have a indoor pit toilet. They are not very clean. Imagine a portajohn.
Keep in mind this place is a primitive campsite for large groups.
You have to reserve this place online.

Well maintained simi primitive facilities only about 3 miles to groceries and shopping but you get the feeling you are out in the boonies.There are actually two sections to the group campground, a upper section and a lower section. There is a cold mountain stream running through the property to cool off on hot summer days. Horse riding stables are just up the road a bit on the unpaved forest service road. If you take the road all the way through, you will get to see some beautiful mountain sceneries. The road ends on US Highway 276 just south of The Cradle of Forestry in America.
