The baked goods and pastries are really good.
The lunch sandwiches are good too, I recommend the roast beef and cheddar.
The art they have is local stuff and its mostly earthy/nature styled stuff

The place has a great atmosphere. Deserts are fresh and they taste good. Tea is made with good quality as well. 3 stars is because staff is very unfriendly in my opinion. More than twice I felt like the staff seems uninterested, Cold and a bit rude. I felt a slight difference between attitudes towards people of color in this place.

Several days ago I ordered 4 dozen rolls for Easter dinner. I was to pick them up on Sunday morning on the way to dinner. At the time I ordered the rolls I wasn't aware that we were going to have snow storms on Easter morning. After hearing the weather report this morning I called and asked if there was any way I could get the rolls today instead of in the morning. I was told that the baker had everything lined up for orders due on Saturday and it probably wasn't going to be possible. This is totally understandable and I had no problem with our original plan....but it never hurts to ask. Later today I got a call and was told that my rolls were ready and I could pick them up in about 30 minutes. Needless to say I dropped what I was doing and drove to Lawrence. Since I live about 40 minutes away I jumped in the car as I was (NOT a pretty site) and drove to Lawrence as quickly as I could get there. I can't tell you how grateful I am for their kindness. They certainly did not have to go out of their way to get my order to me. It was truly above and beyond the call. My sister and I are devoted fans of Wheatfields. We have used them for Thanksgiving breads for several years and they have been wonderful to work with. Thank you Wheatfields you have no idea how grateful we are for your kindness. For those of you who are reading this review.....call them. You won't be sorry.

I appreciate their naturally leavened sourdough bread. All of their selections are delicious and their cafe has some yummy items as well! Today I ordered the butternut squash sandwich with apples, caramelized onions, butternut squash, and specialty cheese, on their walnut artisan bread. It was so fun and delicious. I love creative items that make it worth while to go out. Be aware that they get busy during lunchtime, but it is still worth the trip.

My favorite restaurant of all time! So cozy and there are SO many great food options. 3 cheese melt, eggplant sandwich, turkey swiss and apple, quiches, and side salad with blue cheese are my favorites for lunch. biscuits and gravy and primavera omelet are my favorites for breakfast. And the water filtration system here is UNMATCHED!

Excellent bread & pastries as well as meals. Good salads & veggie options and the big hidden secret is amazing weekday dinners. Bread rivals Italian & French bakeries. Great staff too. All of this and it's fast.

Fabulous food and staff! Everything I've tried has been amazing, but the turkey, apple, and Swiss sandwich is one of my favorites. Very popular on weekends, so plan accordingly.

If you want a cinnamon roll make sure to go in early otherwise they will be gone. They have a great selection across the board.

absolutely love Wheatfields. great to go in for coffee and a desert, or to sit down for a whole cafe style meal and leave with a loaf of sourdough
