OVERVIEW & MISSIONIn late January of 2017, What's Up Southern Maryland! was formed and became a new virtual community. Initially, What's Up SOMD! began with a focus and mission to serve as an online local events and entertainment resource for families with young children.While it thrived with an active audience, it didn't feel like it truly reflected the real passion and objective for serving and making a big impact on the local communities of St. Mary's, Calvert, and Charles County. We wanted something more...something that really would tailor to the masses and provide a resource to connect the residents with something new and that would help enhance their daily lives.Our mission for WUSOMD! is to raise awareness and funds for educational, critical health, economical and social issues by harnessing the collective power of the entertainment community. We are to be the source for bringing families and individuals of the Southern Maryland region with the latest of local entertainment in all forms.We are here to help guide and promote positive interactions within the tri-counties to bring each and everyone together for a much more exciting, fulfilling and friendlier community. With that, we hope to make an impact, as the Community Media News for Entertainment, aiming towards economic and social change.
