High historic value and cultural interest

One of the most scenic of the historic houses.
Ower occupied and lived in, and only opened tho the public a few times a year, this is a must see.
Historical furniture and fixtures, but also international and a few modern. The grounds are large with several other historical buildings surrounding the house.
Down the same road as the Berkley, but ver to the left, drive a couple of miles and. Beautiful!!!!
I would be content to sit on the vast lawn and look out over the James River.response / report this review -

Four of us drove up from Williamsburg, and paid the $20 admission fee. But, we were not allowed to enter the house. We were told by a nice young lady on the property, that we are suppose to call and make an appointment first. There is nothing on their web site that state this. We were all very disappointed.
