We went to Gatlinburg specifically to go to the water park at Smoky Mountain the day after Christmas. We had never heard of it before but wanted to take our kids swimming. We have been to several hotels with water parks. The park here is completely enclosed and indoors making the temperatures warm and comfortable, the water temps were very warm as advertised as well. We have a 4 Year old and 7 Year old. The park has a kiddie pool, 3-4 foot pool with basketball hoops, hot tubs, lazy river, large slides one with tubes single or double. Great family activity.

I was there to be shown a 90 minute presentation to start a time share with them. I will say the salesman were very nice & accommodating. We are looking forward to going in 2019 when our vacation week begins. They supplied us w/ a voucher for 2018 to use at another resort till our begins. I'm still not sure if I'm a sucker or if everything will end up being as a great of a deal as it sounded. The resort is beautiful with amenities everywhere and more still to come. Having kids there's a lot of savings when the resort has all you need already there.

One year after the forest fire. This resort lost 70% of their rooms. They are rebuilding and handling clients with the best hospitality you could want. The water park is still in operation and a great place to relax with the family. The shuttles are still in operation and I witnessed the company hand out over $500K to help local organizations and the local fire department. We lost all our personal belongings in the fire which home owners insurance took care of. From what I see Westgate is taking care of the employees and community.

We were disappointed as soon as we booked when we realized that we were not staying at the actual resort but at the hastily leased motel down the street. But, it was definitely understandable given last year's fire and we didn't let it dampen our family vacation. The water park was superb, you could hardly tell it was "Discount Great Wolf Lodge". There was enough variety to keep the entire family engaged for the whole three day pass we purchased. While the water and general ambient temperature could have been a tad warmer for my tastes it wasn't ever uncomfortable or for an unreasonable amount of time. We've been on time share presentations before but we weren't quite ready for this level of "guerilla sales tactics". Steven, our salesman, was pleasant and knew what was enough pressuring and what was inappropriate. His "manager", Jason, however was awful. Three hours into our 90 minute presentation, we tell Jason that we are absolutely not interested and we had to leave, we had already rescheduled our next activity twice and were late. Jason left us at the table and said we could not leave until he signed our release papers. My wife went to tell the kids to get ready to leave and when she left to find Jason the child care worker told our kids to sit tight because it would be another 40 minutes. Finally, after getting loud with my wife he begrudgingly signed and told us that he was calling security.

We went for a tour and timeshare presentation. The models they showed us were nice. The amenities seemed promising but they are rebuilding. The presentation is over the 90minutes they promise. The "lunch" they provide is a salad bar, macaroni and plain noodles you put alfredo or red sauce on. I feel if they are trying to get you to buy into something they should provide better food. They kept us there longer by trying to send in multiple "closers." We earned our free gift.

Definitely don't sign up for the timeshare tour. They promise you this lovely meal during their presentation and a resort tour, but check-in is extensive and overall they waste your time. Demanded more personal detailed information from us to "qualify" to even "allow" us on the tour after we took the time from our vacation to drive to this resort. And found out later the "gifts" of tickets you BUY at discounted rates are purchased in bulk by them and they are still MAKING MONEY on you touring and buying tickets. Which helped explain the experience of giving info, waiting for the meal and tour in another room where a different and quite nasty person came in demanding even more detailed information to ensure "we can afford it". Then, when we refused, she tried to get the information by making back-handed comments saying we were just trying to take advantage of them for the tickets! We even said fine, we won't take tickets we will just look at the timeshare and WE will decide if we can afford it and want to do it. This wouldn't work for her either because they couldn't even let us on the tour without having this detailed information. So, when we are walking out without the meal or tour after trying to "check-in" for 40 minutes, they still tried to sell us discount tickets! If this isn't a scam, it sure felt like one. Real fishy. There is no reason they should be collecting that sort of info on people just trying to see the resort.

When we bought our time share, I asked number of times about the dog policy. I was lead to believe it was not going to be a problem. I foster dogs and don't know what I will have at any given time. This was the only thing important to me. We visited but did not stay there and again I talked with them about my pit bull coming to stay there when we went. Again seemed like no problem what so ever to bring the dog. They even told me they hand seen Great Danes there.

Called to find out about the deposit and was asked what kind of dog. I told them he is a pit bull. A week from when we leave, I now find out this is a problem. They have all kinds of breed restrictions and the 60 lbs weight limit. So to me they have lied or not really told the whole truth till now! They are picking and choosing who has to follow the rules and who does not!

Thank you for putting me out to find somewhere for my dog to go last minute.

Ok best story ever! Salesman caught the wife and I shopping and offered us a resort tour because they are rebuilding after a fire, we declined and he continued to offer more stuff until we said yes to $100 cash a $25 dinner voucher with a choice of 3 restaurants, so we accepted. We got to the front desk at the facility and they said "timeshare", never done it before so we thought how bad can it be? Well it's kinda fun if you know it going in and play along until you are sure your 90 minutes are up then you lay in on a forgotten reservation! In 1:45 we were in a shuttle heading back to town with "gifts" in hand, Happy to screw a company that does so many people wrong, the owner of west gate can stick his time shares where the sun don't shine but that doesn't mean I won't let them pay for my shopping and dinner again!!!

    PROOF OF AUTOMATED RESPONSES!!!

This was a miserable and pathetic attempt at trying to get us To Finance a huge amount of money for us to get a room for two weeks of the year. The down payment and APR were massive and more than a house payment. We respected their time and they did not return it. They started off great and once we said no all hell broke loose. They tried to corner us in a cage and started getting rude with their pressures. They told us they didn't understand why we didn't sign up. Blue green is a much better company to work with. Shame on Chris and Wednesday for treating us this way. We will NEVER consider buying with you jerks ever again.

Despite the recent fire, the resort is rebuilding at an astonishing rate. The room we had was small but very clean and comfortable. The free washer and dryer was very convenient, and the staff is very helpful.

Came here to utilize the indoor water park – fee for non-guests to use it, maybe guests too, but it was reasonable and the park was a lot of fun.
Lazy river is relaxing, various pools and splash pads for different ages of kids, and staff is friendly and courteous. Everything was clean, modern, and well-maintained.
Didn't have the opportunity to nip off to the adjacent snack bar to grab a drink, but it looks like they had some happy hour drink and snack specials too – would have been nice, but missing out was due to my hands being full with dad work, not because of anything the staff did or didn't do.
Experience at the water park and with staff makes me think coming to the resort to stay would be a good experience.
It's very nice, so I can't imagine it's exactly cheap, but when you have friendly staff and good service, it makes that sort of thing a lot easier to deal with anyway, and it looks like they have a lot of things to do there – after we swam, we ate outside at picnic tables and there was an activity person who had paints out for kids to use.
There was also an ice cream/soda stand near picnic tables that my niece got a coke float or something like that at. She liked it too.
Photo included is of me riding the bronze bear by the picnic tables.
What does that tell you about the resort?
Well, I had enough fun to be getting a little silly after the swim even without partaking in any drink specials, so there's that. Otherwise, probably not much, but I had to include it, I'm very proud of my impersonation of Slim Pickens from "Dr. Strangelove".

Was extremely disappointed in this place. When I booked 2 rooms, I was not told that the 3 restaurants were not open, instead everything was at the indoor pool area. Order your food from a board and have to eat in the very humid room with the indoor pool. No elevator to rooms. Stairs only. PARKING WAS A GAME CHANGER FOR US. We paid for TWO rooms and only had one car and at night there was absolutely NO parking anywhere near our rooms. We had to park at the bottom of the hill. I complained and was told "yes, parking is a problem". Upon check in we were extremely tired from a full day of travel and before we could even get our key we had to listen to a sales pitch and tried to get us to do a tour of the facility. We will not go back to this place.

Tried to bait and switch is with "before fire" prices. They were actually showing us 3 bedroom price then 2 bedroom price. Tried to sell us a 2 bedroom, 1 week, basic for $60,000 and when we didn't bite, offered us a 4 bedroom, 4 week, VIP for $42,000. They acted completely dumb when I asked if the condo resale price kept up with inflation (so I wouldn't be upside down if I ever decided to sell it). They don't bother to tell you that it losses value from the start and most of the perks come with annual membership dues.

We didn't get to see their "in house" financing options (since banks won't finance these purchases). I did the calculations later and found that using their numbers ($56,000 financed for 10 years with $1,100 monthly payments) comes up to 25% interest rate.

I asked the salesman if he would purchase access to his garage for $60,000 that he would only get to use one week a year. He refused even if I dropped it to $10,000. I asked him how he would expect me to do the same. I lost all composure when he tried to guilt me by saying that I should buy it if I wanted to show my that I cared for their quality of vacations.

Tried to do a tour and we waited a half hour and our Rep still didn't come out to get us so we had to cancel. It looks like a very nice place. They hook you with tickets to a show or some form of entertainment and promise to get you a free hotel stay next time you are down but ended up empty handed and no effort to make it right. I'm pretty easy going and this would have been an easy sell for Westgate but vacation time with the family is limited already .
