West Haven House - Professional Furnished Housing

I have been renting my furnished home since 2010 to consultants, graduate students, phd's, post-docs, professors, interns, traveling nurses and mature adults.

My home comes fully furnished with everything included and is Centrally located in a Safe, residential neighborhood in West Haven, CT (Greater New Haven Area). Close to shopping, major roads, public transportation, university shuttles and the beach boardwalk. There are 3 guest rooms with 1 room reserved for me. When I spend time in West Haven, it's usually to putter in the garden and work on things around the house. I am an IT professional that enjoys gardening and walking with my dog on the beach.

The Space
There are 3 guest bedrooms on the 2nd floor with a shared full bath. Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, and Pantry are on the 1st floor. Laundry facilities are in the basement. The house is a single family home in a safe residential area. You will be sharing with other professionals. Everyone is usually very busy. Many guests stay longer than 6 months and have returned. On-street and Off-street parking available - There is a long driveway that will accommodate a few cars.

- Safe 2 minute drive/bus ride, or walk 15-20 minute to Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital

Guest access:
Please Enjoy the Entire House! -- Relax on the front porch, garden, or read in the backyard. Guests have access to the entire house, yard, and garden with the exclusion of private bedrooms. There is a garden/tool shed with a lock available to store your bicycle or other small items. Please ask if there is room before arrival.

Guest interaction:
I will be happy to help if I can - I am not always at the house, but you will be able to reach me with any questions, concerns, or just to chat. More often than not, everyone's schedule is so busy that you hardly see each other. I make every effort to take into account people's morning schedule when booking rooms. Ask to see my reviews on another site since 2010.

The Neighborhood:
- The West Haven Historic District is a great central location to commute to all surrounding areas. The immediate area is safe for walking at night. Easy walk to train, public bus, shopping, coffee, library, shuttles, town common green. Safe 20-30 minute walk to the beach boardwalk.
- West Haven is a diverse, friendly community known for it's beaches. Bike or walk along our miles of beach on our beautiful boardwalk. The Historic Town Green hosts many events, including craft fairs, and seasonal fresh produce from local vendors.

Getting around
- Safe walking/jogging area near the historic district
- Bike to New Haven via the Vision Trail
- Bike to Yale West Campus and Yale Nursing School
- Bike, walk or jog along the beach boardwalk
- Conveniently located in south-central Connecticut along Interstate 95, between New York City and Boston
- Our train station provides plenty of parking and a fast connection to Stamford and New York, as well as the Connecticut shoreline communities

Easy Commute:
- Access to all major roads (I-95, Merritt Parkway, I-91)
- Walk to the public bus (B & J) and Library
- Walk to University of New Haven (UNH) Shuttle
- Walk to Metro-North Train (Commuter Rail) and Yale West Campus Shuttle

Shopping:
- 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk to the supermarket and dollar store
- Walmart is a 5 minute drive or bus ride away
- Major shopping area is a quick drive or bus ride to the Boston Post Rd.

Entertainment:
- Dining, Shopping and Several theaters are only minutes away
- 10 minute walk to Georgies Diner
- 20-30 minute walk to the West Haven Beach Boardwalk
- 5-10 minute walk to the Historic Town Green

Other things to note:
- I try to keep up with supplies, but if you run out ... you are responsible for anything up to $25 such as light bulbs, batteries, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc.
- For you light sleepers, the fire station is nearby -- you may hear the fire trucks and announcements, if the windows are wide open. Some people find it comforting, others have used ear plugs.
- The bedrooms have a privacy chain lock inside door - the bedroom doors do not lock from the outside.
- "Single Occupancy" only per bedroom.
- No Smoking
- No Drama
- No Partying
- No Illegal Activities
