  They have a bunch of nice watch brands but their selection within brands is limited. I find Tourneau TimeMachine at 57th St and Madison Ave to have a better selection of higher end watches and a much friendlier staff.

  WEMPE is a beautiful store with a great selection of watches. It's a bit high pressure and their sales people are somewhat aggressive. I also found their follow up is rather slow and I ended up buying 2 timepieces from another source because of this. Ask for a discount because many of the brands they carry never sell at retail.

  Manuela (spelling) was exquisite in her approach and knowledge level. Had I made up my mind then and there I'd have bought on the spot. No pressure, no hassle. Great location across from the Trump tower.

  Went in to look at IWC, Panerai, and Tudor watches. Browsed the cases a few times with a couple sales associates walking around the store and I don’t even think they looked at me once let alone asked if I wanted to see anything or needed any help. Absolutely terrible customer service and you lost a sale and any future sales I could have gone to your store for.

  As someone who has lived in Germany, I am very familiar with the Wempe brand as they have their roots in my German home away from home, Hamburg. For many years I've admired from afar their timepieces until I finally found one that I absolutely had to have. I was delighted to find that Wempe has a presence in the States, but being in the Seattle area, it was a bit of a challenge since they are on 5th Ave in NYC and my travels have yet to take me to New York. Or so I thought...
  
  My initial phone inquiry about my "must have" timepiece put me in touch with Quasim. He was extremely helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. I was not in a position to purchase at that time but Quasim's professional, friendly, and courteous manner left me with a fantastic first impression.
  
  Fast-forward to two days ago, I once again phoned Wempe...this time I was ready to buy. I was put in touch with Gennadi, who was absolutely fantastic. He happily informed me that my "must have" timepiece in stock and I was told that they would happily overnight it to me on the west coast at no additional charge. If I preferred the color that was not in stock, he told me that he was more than happy to have one sent over from Wempe in Germany. My wrists require a larger armband, and Gennadi saw to it that I would have one on my timepiece; he also included the original. That is amazing service!!
  
  **A note to buyers who want to order via phone and have a watch shipped: Wempe will only accept American Express for these kinds of orders and will require written (or e-mail) authorization for the purchase.** Authorization in hand, Gennadi promptly called me back and finalized the order. I received notification from FedEx later in the day that my order was on it's way and at 9:30am yesterday, the FedEx man was at my front door.
  
  My timepiece was expertly packaged. Upon opening the box, I saw that there was a beautifully-wrapped package inside of a sealed security bag. (to make sure no one has opened/tampered with my order). Out of the security bag, I pulled out a beautifully hand-wrapped box complete with a bow tied on it out of Wempe-branded ribbon. Upon removing the wrapping, there was my timepiece in a beautiful Wempe box. My proof-of-purchase was inside with a handwritten note from Gennadi thanking me from my purchase...such a classy gesture.
  
  Today I had a follow-up conversation with Gennadi as he wanted to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. He followed that up with a personal e-mail thanking me yet again and making himself available should I need any additional assistance.
  
  Having worked extensively in a customer-focused environment, I have to say that my experience with Wempe ranks right up there with other well-respected companies who value their clientele: places like Nordstrom, Alaska Airlines and so on. The fact that they went out of their way to get me the timepiece I wanted despite my being on the opposite coast has made me a loyal customer. A huge thank you to Quasim and Gennadi and to Wempe for knowing how to make their customers feel valued.

  Went here to look at some watches on a Saturday. The store was absolutely packed. Not a single person was available to help me. This place may be good when it is not packed, but I did not really like the experience that I had. I would give it another try though. If it fails me again, then I will cut them off.

  The fine NOMOS manual-wind watch I purchased here stopped working today (Sunday); due to a drop before hand washing.
  
  I realized at 3:45pm the problem...with just over an hour before WEMPE 5th Ave would be closing. Not only did the staff welcome me late in their day, but their service team opened, repaired, and pressure-tested the piece right away. In the spirit of traditional horologie, WEMPE is a refuge of old-world grace, efficiency and courteous service. They've earned another lifelong client!
