This #SeniorSunday we'd like to introduce you to Toby!

Toby is a tortoiseshell and white American guinea pig born in 2014. He is curious and friendly, interested in all the happenings around his cage and a sweetheart who loves to cuddle. Toby was adopted from us in his younger years and, through no fault of his own, returned to us last year. He would be a fantastic addition to any family, and would especially be a great first guinea pig. Toby is looking for the perfect home to spend his golden years. Could it be yours?

With the sad passing of our former store bunnies, Jeannie and Christopher, there's some big shoes to fill at Wee Companions. We've chosen Sugar Cookie to carry on as our new store bunny.

Sugar Cookie is a young New Zealand White bunny we rescued from the Palm Springs shelter. While she's only been to the store a few times, we are sure she will gain more confidence and be a wonderful ambassador. Next time you're at our Store and Adoption Center be sure to look for Sugar Cookie and welcome her to the Wee Companions family!

This #SeniorSunday, consider opening your heart to Mars, a sweet and handsome senior male. He is an orange and black Abyssinian with some cute splashes of white. He was born in 2013, but he is in great health and still has a lot of love to give! We'd be delighted to find him a comfy and loving retirement home where he can live out the rest of his days as a pampered companion. If you want to meet this little love, email weecompanions@aol.com to schedule a meet-and-greet.

You might remember this pretty girl, Curta, from our Valentine's Day feature. Well, she is still waiting for her forever family! This sweet senior girl is approximately seven years old. She is absolutely darling too! Easy to handle and sweet. Curta sadly lost her friend recently and really could use a doting family to shower her with cuddles and affection.

Our adoptable senior pets often get overlooked or passed by because of their age. Yet these ones need the most love, because they were uprooted from a long-term home and just deserve a loving retirement home. They may be with us for a shorter amount of time, but they aren't short on love! #seniorpets #adoptaseniorpet

UPDATE! This family has found their forever homes! Two baby sisters went to one home and the mom, auntie, and other two babies went to another. Thank you to all who help network them!

This Mothers' Day, we're on the search for a special family for some very special mama rats!⁣ ⁣ Asterina (double rex mama) and her hairless sister Asherah are looking for their forever home. Asherah was born without eyes and depends on her sister for comfort and guidance. These two girls need to... find a home where they can stay together. (Mama has some double rex girl babies who can join them in their new home as well!)⁣ ⁣ If you're interested in giving these special girls a home, contact Antonella at antonella@weecompanions.org.

This beautiful Abyssinian guinea pig, baby rats, and baby hamsters are just a few of over 50 animals that Wee Companions took in in the span of just 4 days!

From private parties and shelters in LA, Santa Monica, Camp Pendleton, and Chula Vista we took in a variety of animals in need of immediate assistance. One chinchilla, 28 rats, 20 hamsters, and 11 guinea pigs will call Wee Companions their temporary home while they look for their forever families!

All of these animals wil...l eventually be up for adoption once their medical issues are cleared. Most females are on pregnancy watch, several individuals have fighting injuries from overcrowding, and the chinchilla suffered from heat exhaustion. Three are being treated for fungal infections.

If you've ever wondered what Wee Companions is like "behind-the-scenes," now you know! But we can't help these animals and others without supporters like you! Please consider donating to help us care for these animals and cover their vet costs.

We want to thank everyone for all the kindness and sympathy we received on our last post. Working with animals can be tough because we love them so much, yet they are with us only a short time. What matters is enjoying each moment we have together.

Here's a shot of some visitors to our adoption center loving on our animals this past weekend. These animals are our inspiration, our mission, and our heart! There are still so many animals in need, and we will continue to work so that all of our animals can find a forever home where they can be loved as much as Jeannie and Christopher were and are. ❤️🌈
