Wawanesa has increased my home and auto insurance rates almost 50%. I have no claims and I have been a loyal customer with them since the mid 80's. Time to move on i guess, hope to watch you go bankrupt Wawanesa by losing all of your customers! Your customer services does not warrant your price hikes. If I am going to pay higher premiums might as well be treated better. 0 Stars for loyalty!

I just spend more than hour on the phone to try to add another vehicle and it was a NIGHTMARE I got so frustrated that I couldn't add the new vehicle and now I want to cancel my current policy. You guys need to step it up on customer service is really bad they make you loose your patience. Now let's find another insurance company that is better than this. What the hell kinda of service is ? I have been with this dam company for 10+ years!! and this is how you treat a loyal customer... Unbelievable . I asked to add car and they started asking me 99 questions , like dude... I just want to know how much it would be per month for insurance!!! progressive is soooo much better! they give you quote online , nice a simple and clean and they only need like 3 questions or so.

My daughter was in a car accident with one of there customers back in May. There customer was at fault my daughter and her insurance have submitted proper documentation and till this present day they have not reached out to her to fix her car. She has called and left messages, and nothing. When they respond they ask her for the same information. This insurance is not one you would want to have to cover your vehicle. Poor customer service, and bad a responding to pay for damages. Sent pictures and written statement and nothing.

I recently had a terrible experience with processing a claim, I'm new to Wawanesa and this is a great reflection on how they reach out to their new customers. I got a letter from Wawanesa saying that I would need to respond within 7 days to dispute my claim, I then called my claim representative multiple times in the two week process and would always be sent to voicemail. The representative would then call me when I would be at work after I told her to call me after a specific time and not respond to my messages. I also sent an email with photos regarding my claim to dispute that I am not completing at fault and never got a response. As a result, the company believes that I'm at fault and never contacted them. Even though I clearly contacted them multiple times and never got a prompt professional response or email back from the claim representative like other insurance companies. As a younger driver, my rate is really low and I'd like to keep going with this company but with service like this it's easy to consider other companies. Will be disputing this with the customer service very soon, hoping to resolve this issue.

This is not a review for Wawanesa Insurance that I would hope to write. However, I think it must be done so that others can know what kind of customer service and potential premium rate hikes they're in store for in the future. Or what they'll get into with this company.

I will try to keep this very objective so that you can make your own decision.

I've been with Wawanesa for a little over a decade and have 2 vehicles fully covered. My wife and I are good drivers, no accidents and driving violations. We've lived in Oregon the past 2 years and still continued to have affordable premiums. Our last premium, August 2016 to August 2017, was $1,260 for the year (2 vehicles fully covered). I have auto payment set up and never missed a payment. I received notification, via email, from Wawanesa that my policy renewal premium will now be $2,012 for 6 months. That's now $4,024 for a year, same time frame (August to August). That's a 220% increase! The reason for the rate increase has nothing to do with us as drivers but some unknown 'risk' in the area. That's all the Relations Rep told me and didn't give me any details about the risk.

I post here so that you the reader can make a decision based on their sudden rate increase and decide for yourself if you think that's reasonable.

If you're experiencing this as well and have been gouged with this rate increase from Wawanesa and live in Oregon, I encourage you to file a complaint with Oregon's Department of Insurance

I want to share my personal experience about wawanesa Insurance company , I have been a member for quite some time since 2015, they have been a pretty good insurance company up to a few months ago.
    First complaint :
In July 2017 I have received my bill , it was higher then usual . Which prior bills and statement showed that I would be paying around 60 a month. The bill I received was for 160.00 which was over double then the amount i usually pay, I contacted them and it almost took an hour to reach an actual person. The customer service rep, explained that the policy rate increased for everyone, which I received no notification. The prior bill was a reflection of the whole year which was at 60.00 to 67.00 a month , the rep then notified me it would be 90.00 to 97.00 a month. As I stated before there was no prior notification of the rate policy increasing. Just to make a note I never received a ticket. However that did not fully answer why my bill was so high, the rep explained that someone else has been paying part of my policy for 2 months . I was confused, due to them sending me a bill that outline all the future bills. The rep said I owed the amount that was due months prior. I let the rep know I was not going to because that was there mistake not mine. I pay on time auto draft payment every month with no late dues. My complaint was not resolved.
For this prior month I have been trying to get a hold of billing to change my auto draft payments to a different day which I have not once been able to reach anyone. I finally e-mailed there comment and quote e-mail, to see if anyone is able to help, however they couldn't because it was to late to change the date. Now I am stuck with overdraft fees from my bank.
Please be aware of the changing rates and poor customer service and there lack in knowledge in the billing department . I am canceling my membership policy in Nov. and will be going AAA .

I'm not sure how anyone could write a 5 star rating. There is absolutely no customer service. Every time I call, I am on hold for 40 minutes or longer. Sometimes they hang up on me and I have to call again. It is cheap for a reason. They can't afford to staff the company properly. Bad company, bad service.

I've been a customer for over a decade and they are on point by providing great service and great rates. I've had a couple claims and they are always on time, cater to my needs, and get things done.

I've been a customer of Wawanesa for over 20 years now and for the most part my experience over the years has been good. However, I've noticed that their customer service has deteriorated substantially. So I decided to try and take care of things over the internet using their website and boy is their website bad. It's incredibly difficult to maneuver and you can't really find things you are looking for. I've complained to them several times already but it seems like they don't care. I'm going to try another insurance company this coming year.

I've had home and auto insurance for around ten years. I've only had one claim (home) and found the entire process to be excellent.
I've recommended them to a number of people who have been quite happy to switch when receiving their rates.
