Lady behind counter was rude never coming here again

The vet seemed competent, but the customer service experience was lacking. The lady behind the counter got annoyed easily. After my visit, I talked to her to schedule the follow-up appointment. She was very brusque, and kept writing down appointment times in their schedule at the same time she told them to me, without waiting for confirmation that I was available. When I told her that I work and have to do something in the afternoon, her whole mannerism changed and she became rude. Coincidentally, the vet cancelled our follow-up appointment. We never contacted them to reschedule, but we did get a card in the mail saying that we missed another appointment. It turns out that the lady had rescheduled our cancelled appointment for a few days later without confirming it with me or my husband. I'm waiting to see if they're going to charge our credit card for this "no show" but we've decided to change vets after this experience.

Seem to be knowledgeable and definitely handle the pets well, but they lack courtesy and basic customer service manners - especially the lady behind the counter. Always seems like we are annoying her when asking basic questions. Really frustrating.
Also last time we were there for blood work they ran additional tests a few days later without our knowledge and charged our credit card $70 without our consent or knowledge.report this review -

I had a great experience at first.. Took my new dog here for the initial visit and checkup, the when I was checking to see what was covered for the second visit, I spoke to "Myra" and when asking for the prices she very rudely told me and my gf " you probably should have looked that up before getting a dog" and to add to that when I called her out on how rude that was she tells me that saying that is a "fact" when it's not, that's clearly an opinion and when your in the customer facing industry this is very poor behavior!!!! I do not recommend this place at all as they are very rude and charge high costs!! We called a different vet and they have a cheaper price with the same vaccinations offered for our pup. cheaper than what they offer

Dr. Swanson is always a pleasure to work with! Friendly and professional 100%. I would recommend Waukegan Pet Clinic to anyone in the Waukegan area in need of a great vet.

The staff at Waukegan Pet Clinic is fantastic! Whether it's one of our dogs or our cat, we always know our furry friends are in good hands here. They are very patient and personable. They are great at explaining our pets' issues in detail and clearly laying out all the different options. Highly recommend!

Being new to the area we needed a new vet to take our dog when she was in a fight with another dog. The vet is a wonderful person who took care of us and helped us save our dog. Dr Swanson is very friendly and sensitive. Great clinic and wonderful people who will work with people!

After moving from Chicago to Waukegan, my wife and I needed a reliable, thorough veterinarian for our two Yorkies and our cat. We took our pets to Waukegan Pet Clinic, and found that Dr. Laurie Swanson, DVM and her staff were impeccable. Caring, kind, professional and knowledgeable. They explained everything to our satisfaction, and took the time to make sure that neither we or our pets felt rushed. The facilities are kept remarkably clean. Prices are reasonable and fair, but the service is top-notch. I am impressed and look forward to putting the health and safety of our beloved dogs and cat in Waukegan Pet Clinic's care for the years to come.
