Wat Wimuttayaram is the Buddhist temple that practice the doctrine and discipline expounded and regulated by the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The temple also follow the principles and tradition of Theravada Sect which is the oldest school of Buddhism that is widely regarded as the most preserver of original teaching of the Buddha. The temple was initially incorporated by Phrakhrupalad Wuttichai Phothachai in cooperation with and under the patronage of the Thai and Lao communities in New Orleans, Louisiana. The purpose of the non-profit corporation is: a. To foster the understanding of Buddhism; b To establish a permanent Buddhist center in New Orleans, Louisiana; and c. To create understanding and common bond among those who seek the truth through the study of Buddhism.
