Hidden gem of a state park. Hickory, oak & walnut forests surrounding a large lake. We encountered geese and trumpeter swans and a deer. Still saw commas & cloudless sulphur butterflies in late November. Would like to explore again in spring to see what native wildflowers we can photograph.

Beautiful park. We had a great weekend tent camping here despite the cold cold weather! Haven't checked out the trails but hope to next time!

Scenic and relaxing state park. Nice lake for fishing with nicely paved roads. Great for both tent and RV camping.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for like 5 days a year ago in April. We stayed at a walk-in site. The walk-in sites were well shaded with lots of trees around and pretty secluded from the other walk-in sites. The campground host was a very sweet older gentleman who made sure we were well taken care of. Everyone was very friendly. We rented a rowboat and walked the trails and fished. I took many beautiful pictures and seen lots of wildlife, but mostly turtles, heron, and watch out for the coons, they're brave!! Each site seemed to have its own private fishing dock. We did not have any bug issues except for ?hornets?.. the ones in the ground? It was April though.. showers were clean, water was kind of cold but the host inquired about that issue and had it fixed for us the very next day. We did not get to eat at the restaurant. All in all, I would definitely come again and would recommend this beautiful state park to friends and family and all who read this.
