Six more plants go and all 5000 plants going to Boyce Thompson will have been moved. Next steps demolition and re-vegetation.

The picture below represents only 25% of the total number of boxed plants that are to be shipped to BTA by the end of summer in 2017! But not to worry......BTA has plenty of room for them all.

The move to Boyce Thompson Arboretum will begin in a couple of months. Moving our entire collection of non-native plants is going to be a monumental task. And, it is going to be quite expensive.

If you would like to help us in our effort to save as many plants as possible, please make a donation to the Wallace Desert Gardens Foundation. Wallace Gardens is a 501 (c)(3) organization so any amount you give can be deducted from your taxes.

Would you like to spend part of your day in a glorious garden? Would you like to learn the names of more desert plants?

The Wallace Gardens staff is seeking volunteers to help identify and map all of the plants in our collection. No experience is necessary. You do not need to know the botanical names of the plants (but you will learn many of them.) It will not involve any heavy lifting or other manual labor. Our requirements are:

    ...

the ability to commit a few hours a week the ability to have fun working with other plant enthusiasts attending a one hour training session

If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, send an email to this address: info@wallacegardens.org and put Volunteer on the subject line.

Feel free to share this opportunity with anyone you think might be interested.
