I was here 20 years ago and was excited to come back and share it with my family. It's still very educational and a really awesome day of chilling and learning. I literally spent a few hours just watching animals and listening to the application podcast for each exhibit. I could have spent more time relaxing and learning but I'm a nerd and my family members are not. The only thing I would add is a little cafe for those in the group that tap out early 👍
The Waikiki Aquarium is tiny. We do enjoy seeing the salt water fish and animal. We come here when we have a combine ticket with the Honolulu Zoo. But the only problem is that we have to cut our zoo time short, so we can make it to the Aquarium.
Such an amazing little aquarium, definitely a must while in Hawaii. Our boys (19 months and 4 years old) loved it! We'll come again when visiting Waikiki! 😃
Venue is a bit small, and parking is practically non-existent. But the layout is nice, there is plenty to see, and the staff were very nice. They have some gorgeous exhibits, and if you take your time and read the placards, it is easily half a day trip. I coupled it with the zoo, which is only a short walk away. If your staying in, or near, Waikiki it is definitely worth checking out.
Great price. Extremely informative audio tour and very well cared for animals. Bring a tripod if you want clear pics of animals in dark environments. Took about 2 hours to go though with the audio tour.
Sadly I've been to a better aquarium in Arizona with no water nearby. One sea lion, small shark, some jelly fish, a few large fish that are plain, and lots of small fish you find at any fish store. Save $12 per person and do a different attraction. I expected way more being in Hawaii.
Fun little aquarium. Only $12 bucks and there is plenty to see. Takes about an hour to go through. There is a Giant Clam here and plenty of sea life to take up your time. It's also close to the beach.
A bit small, you really don't need to spend more than two hours here. Parking is limited, so if you don't want to park on the street come early or walk/public transportation. Other than that nice assortment of fishes.
Clean and well kept. Small aquarium with a wide variety of fish. My kids love watching it. Takes 1-2 hours to go through, depending on how long you stop at each location.
The aquarium looks too small to house much, but this is deceiving! Many beautiful galleries of coral, unusual marine critters, ethereal jellyfish, and even a Giant Clam. Lovely outdoor exhibits, too. The knowledgeable guides make for informative tours. A must see for ocean lovers.
Great displays, especially for small fish. Can easily see most things in an hour. Nemo and Dory are there. My 3 year old had a great time. One place let's the kids touch baby hermit crabs. Not a comprehensive list: all kinds of tropical, colorful fish, sea horses, star fish, a small zebra shark, a seal, sea anemones, jelly fish under black lights.
This place is very small but I did get my money's worth. There are a lot of amazing exhibits in the aquarium and I actually spent about an hour walking around and found myself enjoying every minute of it. My favorite things is the smaller reef tank outside and the jellyfish exhibits inside. It was a fun place to go to and offers a nice military discount for those that have ID cards.
Such a nice aquarium. Definitely would go here again. Had a good time here. The animals were neat. Don't understand why people say this place sucks. I was impressed with the place. It's sad how this place is under appreciated. Great for the kids! Yes I understand it's not the largest aquarium in the world but it's really cool. I recommend going here if you want to kill some time or just spend the day there.
