Did you know? Waco Mammoth isn't just home to dozens of fossil species, it also is home to hundreds of living species today. One of the easiest ways to help vulnerable species like bees is to take nothing from parks, and leave nothing in them. Something as simple as not picking wildflowers in the park can have a positive impact!
Pictured in photo: Texas thistle (Cirsium texanum) and western honey bee (Apis mellifera).
Happy Anniversary to us! On this day in 2015, the Waco Mammoth Site became Waco Mammoth National Monument, officially being designated as the 408th unit of the National Park Service
