Description

Mark the spot, Nashville! WXNA-FM “Low Power, High Voltage” Radio is here! Broadcasting at 101.5 fm from the urban core of Music City, WXNA is radio made in Nashville, for Nashville.

On December 4, 2014, the FCC granted a construction permit to WXNA with a completion date of no later than June 4, 2016—and that is the date we went live.

WXNA can also be heard at wxnafm.org and via the TuneIn app.

The station features a freeform radio format similar to the former WRVU-FM Nashville during its classic years, but also inspired by such freeform radio stations as WFMU-FM Jersey City, NJ, and KALX-FM Berkeley, CA. Freeform radio allows disc jockeys total freedom in the music they play (within FCC regulations), regardless of music genre or commercial interests.

WXNA is here to produce unusual and eclectic cultural programming that reflects Nashville’s rich history and cultural diversity. As an outlet for a wide variety of community voices and viewpoints, the station will partner with local nonprofit organizations and other regional interests to provide specialized community-interest programming. We also hope to collaborate with local schools and universities, and will welcome applications from student DJs.

As a 501c3, WXNA is a listener-supported radio station. To donate today, visit WXNAfm.org!

The Nashville Sounds and Nashville Soccer Club are hot, baseball pennant fever is here, POTUS is slinging dirt at Lebron, and football training camp is high gear. Tune in tonight at 11 for Walk it Off on WXNA and get caught up with all the sports talk that's worth talking about!

Here's a little something that will either make or break an Iggy Pop fan's Sunday morning. From the soundtrack of the forthcoming film, Trainspotting 2.

Nashville's J.P. Harris curated the lineup for one of the stages at the Newport Folk Festival this past week, stacking the lineup with a series of musicians that have influenced him over the years. Way to go, J.P.! Look for his new album Sometimes Dogs Bark at Nothing in the next few weeks.

Curtis Mayfield brings the heat, and Ron O'Neal brings the swagger. It's Music City Monday at the Belcourt Theatre, and that's all that matters. Super Fly hits the screen at 9:30. That's the stone, cold truth.
