In 1976, September Days Senior Center was officially founded and landed its first home within the walls of Quirk Elementary School located on Quirk Road.

After only three months of operation, the center’s membership reached 300 members and was well underway offering a variety of programs and services for mature adults.

The center moved into the Van Buren Township Hall in the mid to late 80’s, and through the years the center expanded in many ways. A beautiful large outdoor garden area was added where many events have taken place and a much needed Transportation Program was implemented in the early 90’s. Today the need for transportation continues to grow.

Now almost 40 years later the membership is well over 2,000 with more than 30 weekly programs and classes ranging from fitness, photography, and computers just to name a few.
