By creating healing spaces through art and innovation rooted within the foundation of growing food, we foster pathways to freedom.
Whenever someone says, “I pulled myself up by my bootstraps,” please refer them to this article. Discrimination is real and the playing field is not, and has never been, equal.

Diversity matters — in the friends we keep and the meals we eat. Having a diverse set of crops to grow and eat helps keep us, and the planet, healthier.
One of the most rewarding experiences when visiting our Youth Corps programs is seeing how teens have internalized the farm work they do. Watching the growth in Tara on the right, a rising senior in high school, who has become a leader and resident farm expert; resonating @urbangrowerscollective mission and real avenues for social change, makes these long summer days all the sweeter. #teensmatter #urbanfarming #urbanagriculture #foodjustice

A short read about the Grounds for Peace program for your commute home.
Huge News! Today, Urban Growers Collective, Mayor Lightfoot, the City of Chicago and Heartland Alliance announced the Grounds for Peace 50 lots program. Today’s site in Englewood is the first of 50 vacant lots that will be transformed over the summer into beautiful landscaped sunflower farms, teaching the men in the READI job-training program landscaping and farming skills, as well as the importance of neighborhood beautification. To learn where the lots are located, visit chicago.gov/GroundsforPeace.
