I have lived at Uptown Square for almost 6 months now. Aside from some issues with move in, our experience has been really positive. Like other reviews have said, the apartments are in a really convenient location at a relatively affordable price. MARTA, Kroger, Home Depot, Target, and several restaurants are within walking distance. The front office staff is helpful and maintenance is really quick to respond to requests.

I have lived at Uptown Square since 2015 and have had a really great experience thus far. Yes - there are college-age tenants there so sometimes noise will occur; however, the office is responsive to complaints and supportive of tenant needs. Maintenance is the BEST asset in my opinion. They will fix everything ASAP and are very friendly. Office staff has also always been friendly to me - even with changes in management. -- In that, I am very surprised that people are complaining in their reviews; especially mentioning bed bugs in 18 units. Like, how would you know that as a tenant? (It sounds like petty sabotage to me). Yes - that sort of thing is possible; however, I do not have bed bugs, and have heard no mention of them from my neighbors in my building. When I saw a bug ONE time, I notified the office and an exterminator was sent out the next day. Anyway, my advice for interested tenants: Take the courtyard building near Pike Nursery. It's cozy and quiet.

UPDATE: BED BUGS IN 18 APARTMENTS.

Location is amazing, very convenient place. Easy access to Marta, chilis, longhorn, even tongue and groove. The leasing staff are incompetent, though. One of the girls just seems that she couldn't care less about your problem and don't, don't expect to solve the problem without back and forth emails and office visits. Sometimes it's just annoying in terms of communication. If you don't mind that and just need a convenient location, this is your place.

I just recently moved into these apartments and have had quite an enjoyable experience. I love the proximity to restaurants, grocery shopping, and work. The staff and maintenance have been very professional and quick to respond. The apartment is spacious, finished nicely, and has plenty of courtyards and fields next to the property for my fur babies.

Recently moved into Uptown Square. The apartment is really great and the staff is very helpful. The location is wonderful, a d it's close to the supermarket, dry cleaners, great restaurants and nightlife. I highly recommend Uptown Square!

Most of the apartments are infested with bed bugs. I don't like the administration here, very rude and with frustatingly high attitude. Many people on the fourth floor leave garbage outside their apartment. The hallways smell like garbage most of the time. Gym needs total upgradation with new equipment.

Do not move here. Within the first month of me moving here a series of cars got broken into, including my car. Every day, there were at least two cars with broken glass and the doors open. When I told the leasing office that they need to do something about this, they said they have a security officer who's on property late at night and checking the parking deck, but this simply is not true because the security officer is nowhere in the parking deck (I checked) and does not respond to calls. They also said something about how they will install cameras at the end of August, while cars were still being broken into on a daily basis. A lot of the tenants are a bunch of young college age kids, who don't believe in respecting their neighbors at 1,2 or even 3am, blaring loud music, or getting drunk and yelling at each other across the courtyard. I have threatened to call the cops on them several times and called the security officer several times, who of course never showed up. But they quiet down temporarily and pick it back up the next day. It does not feel like a home, at this point it feels like a prison that I have to find a way out of. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else.

I have no idea how this place has 3.3 stars. I guess that shows the reliability of Google reviews. Check Yelp! Anyway, every person that I've known that has parked their car in the garage has had it broken in to. The management knows this is a problem, even sending out emails to the residents with "tips" to keep their stuff safe, which amounts to 'Don't keep valuables in your car so WHEN it's inevitably broken into they only get your factory stereo.' There is no security, no cameras, and nothing more than a, "Well you shouldn't have had it in your car," when your stuff gets stolen. You can find a car with a door open (sometimes with a broken window) and stuff all over the ground near it literally every day (no exaggeration).
On top of that the fire alarm goes off randomly. One time it went on and on for a good 5 hours. It would stop for about 10 minutes and go off again for good minute or two and repeat.
The residents are all young so there are parties all the time. The neighbors would go on all night long, even after we asked them to keep it down because we have class/work at 8am on a weeknight. Overall it's the worst place I've ever stayed and urge everyone to please please stay far far away.

RUN FAR FAR WAY
I have lived at Uptown Square for almost a year now and don't waste your time and money like I did.
FIRE ALARMS: The fire alarm goes off about one every month, two-three times every month during the winter. People are either drunk cooking at 3 am, smoking in the elevators, or being drunk idiots and pulling the fire alarm. The first time the fire alarm went off my boyfriend was visiting and we went outside and we were the only people out there As we were exiting the building people would pop their head out of their apartment and then close the door. The fire alarm goes off so regularly that when there actually is a fire no one is going to leave. The fire alarm went off last night at 2:30am and went on for almost 50 minutes. I had to go to the office the next morning to pick up a package and they asked me how I was and I told them tired from the fire alarm and they go, "that, oh that was only 15 minutes". It most definitely wasn't just 15 minutes but I'm glad to know that you think the fire alarm going off at 2:30am for even 15 minutes is ok
DIRTY DIRTY COMPLEX: The complex itself is disgustingly dirty. People get drunk and puke in the hallways and by the elevator quite regularly and the cleaning crew only comes once a week. Therefore, if someone pukes next to the elevator on Saturday they do not clean it until Wednesday. It just sits there in the heat baking because the hallways and elevators don't have A/C. People let their pets poop in the hallways and sometimes you even see poop drag marks on the floor. Sometimes it is even too much for residents to put their trash in the trash shoot, so they just leave it on the floor and expect someone else to do it for them. Also, the parking garage always has trash and people just empty their car trash and leave it in the parking spots. However, the parking garage gets cleaned regularly by the maintenance crew, so at least that doesn't sit for days.
NOISE: The rooms themselves are actually good noise control, but if you have an outward apartment along the streets the noise is awful. Tongue and Groove is on the same street, so Thursday-Saturday there are always drunk people yelling at each other and being loud. My apartment was right new to the Eon guest entry door which is across the street and it is AWFUL!! People sit there and yell at the intercom trying to get their friends or ex boyfriends (I've heard it all) to let them in. They pound at the door, scream at the top of their lungs, and get in fights with people walking by. You constantly hear the buzzing of the door letting people in and out at all hours and cars parked on the street blast their music waiting for their friends.

The only good part about the complex is the location, the staff is very nice, and work orders are taken care of the same day as they are submitted. Besides that, run.
