Came in on a Saturday at 4:46 to purchase an expansion for Ticket to Ride (which is right inside the entrance) and as soon as I walked in the door, the owner said "we're closed". I said "really, the door says you close at 5". He went on to mumble something about not letting customers in after a certain point and that the register was already shut down I'm sorry but if you advertise that you close at 5, this means you lock the door at 5, finish checking out the customers that are in the store and then you shutdown the cash register and leave What gaming store closes at 5 on a Saturday anyway? They aren't even open on Sunday. I like to support local gaming stores, but I will absolutely not be making any purchases from these guys in the future.
I've had multiple bad experiences with this particular store. Most of the 5 star reviews on here I feel are people that are just friends with the owner or are just regulars. They are NOT friendly to new customers. I brushed a few instances off saying to myself "Everyone has a bad day". There is no excuse for multiple times and situations. Leave your personal life at home don't bring it to a business. The owner himself is disrespectful and rude. He will interrupt you mid sentence and has this your beneath me kind of attitude. I will never shop here or give them my business again and neither will any of my friends we have all had bad experiences.
Nice folks, variety of products, and room to meet friends and play some games.
Friendly owner, good selection, knowledgable. Felt welcome as a newcomer who was definitely out of his element.
Rude customer service.. rude rude rude.
This place is obscured by the fact that Big Lots is in the same shopping center but it is a spacious and clean place to play Magic and a willing and friendly place to purchase comics. It helps that the best Vietnamese restaurant in Lynchburg is nearby.
This is one of the best comic book stores I've been to. The owner is very helpful, knows me by my name. They always do there best to help me find what I am looking forward.
Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service! I was searching for a board game and stopped in on a Sunday to see if they had it. After we walked in the unlocked door, we were informed that they were closed. Right inside the door we noticed the game we were looking for purchase. Being a pleasant and normal customer, I was trying to ask if I could just see if they had the game we were searching for, which we noticed right inside the door. As we were standing inside the doorway, the owner cut me off and began to yell at me and demand that we leave the store. I was calm the whole time and was not appearing to be a defiant customer. The whole encounter was disrespectful and is never how you should treat a customer. I would have understood if we were trying to be defiant and walk through the whole store, but we were in the doorway the whole time. The last time I checked saying, "Did you see where my finger pointed, out the door" and yelling, was not something you say to a customer. This store will never be receiving my business and I encourage you to not support a store who disrespects their customers.
