One of the top schools in the country. Keeps updating their campus and you can always count on the campus to be clean and well kept. The union is one of a kind, and one of my favorite things about UNT is their tradition to light the tower! Go Mean Green! All of their facilities are state of the art!!

Great university. Have a daughter that graduated from there. My son went there for a short time and he liked it. Very good music school. A lot of new buildings and other updates to the campus. Current enrollment is around 41 thousand. A lot of students commute to the school, beings that it is just north of the DFW metroplex.

I've been a student at UNT for a few years now. The parking sucks, but the campus looks sooooo much better with the NEW student union.

The University of North Texas (UNT's College of Health and Public Service) is a lousy ivory tower with very low morale. The campus is absolutely hideous. The professors are very bitter, belligerent, biased, and have an ax to grind about petty issues. An instructor named Sandy Magee rudely slapped me on my back for no reason and another time she told classmates to kick me because my cellphone accidentally rang during class. Sandy Magee was reported to administrators for harassment and unfortunately she is still teaching. Some classes have way too much irrelevant team-work and group projects because lazy professors don't want to grade individual assignments. Groupthink is encouraged on a regular basis. My academic advisor and the customer service in general was very abrasive and unprofessional. Administrators are worthless and self-righteous. The student counseling center is abysmal. Kerr Hall dorm felt like being trapped in a revolting dungeon. Parking at UNT is a nightmare. Networking with fellow students is futile. People constantly avoid eye contact and avoid conversation.

Denton, Texas itself is a boring piece of garbage backwater town. Everyone I met was some sheltered backwater rube, an alcoholic, bipolar, or an obsessive bible thumping Christian. Everyone in Denton,Texas seems to be mentally unbalanced and passive-aggressive too. There is no healthy middle ground regarding the atrocious dating scene, everyone seems to be either frigid and prude or a nymphomaniac. There is always construction on the roads, traffic jams, pitiful job opportunities, and strange people everywhere. Denton Bible Church which is very popular with UNT students is beyond creepy. Avoid living in this nightmarish backwoods country bumpkin town. The job market is pitiful and UNT seems to only want to hire questionable immigrants who can barely speak English and that's very unfair to student applicants who are U.S. citizens.

I know this probably wont convince anyone, but this is a terrible school. Most of the teachers don't even read their own assigned reading. The campus is unsafe and has multiple assaults and murders recently (2016). The dorms are dirty and small, and any request for maintenance is slow. The library charges you to use their scanner, printer, or 3d printer. To top it all off, there is a marijuana den right off of campus. Most of the students here smoke it, and no one cares. Oh and also there is a preacher that is here twice a week to shout at everyone that they are going to hell.

You will get a better education for a lower price at any of the University of Texas campuses. That is if you care about education I guess. You can be like half the people at UNT and smoke pot all day and never find a job.

Words cannot describe how awful my experience has been here. Outrageous cost of student living, prking (which is also awful by the way). Do not come here if you plan on commuting. This school was apparently an amazing school for future educators but I would say, if you’re wanting to be a teacher (especially the elementary level) DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. The program is absolutely useless. There were a few classes that made since for my degree, but overall this degree should not take ANYONE more than 4 years! I was not behind, and was on track to graduate on time. But they added a 5th year of just student teaching (which should have been done during year 4).

Professors bring politics into every lecture and I’ve been called out multiple times for my race, religion, and political views. Unless you agree with their side, this school is NOT for you.

I love this place: used to be a part time professor and U/Grad Students Adviser at Dept of CS. Great people, fantastic students, excellent programs. Education is outstanding here. I do understand people have some minor complaints about stuff like parking and/or sports, food, etc. They continuously improving everything. Could only recommend.

I live a whole 2 miles away from Campus. and have for quite sometime. Excellent people to meet if you are a Social Science major, and the professors are life long friends. No college will be a perfect experience, but a lot of it is what you make of it. I had struggles, but ultimately success. Glad I graduated from this school..except the Campus is an environmentally friendly Delightful Green, rather than a "Mean" Green.

Great place to attend college. Atmosphere is welcoming, diverse demographic, amazing professor's, beautiful campus, lots of activities/ organizations to be a part of. I really enjoyed that it had a rural area feel with the big city down the highway. I recommend you live on campus to avoid traffic. Only having one way in out of the area (highway 35) made it hard at time because of traffic

As a former football player, let me say that the sports (at least football) suck here. And don't even get me started on the parking. You can get charged randomly and you pay lots for parking. But aside from those things, the professors are very nice and helpful in my experience, the campus and its surroundings are cool and just overall a good school. I recommend highly to anyone looking for a public college in Texas. Just avoid the parking.

Unless you're planning on living on campus, avoid UNT. UNT doesn't help commuters in the least. Parking is a joke. Don't pay for it--seriously. You're better off just parking in a neighborhood (I recommend Ave G or Highland St), and just walking to campus.

Moreover, the campus staff--including the professors--cater only to excessively liberal points of views. I'm a liberal, but I want to open up the conversation to more neutrality and different persepctives. If you're a conservative or moderate going to school here--good luck.

Classes are really hit or miss. Of course, there are some really incredible professors, but they're really not the majority. I have had professors directly insult me and other students--and for really moronic things like holding down a job or having a stutter or studying something that's not "lucrative". I don't expect a perfect campus, but damn.

I want a refund. To my fellow veteran: do not go here. It is not vet friendly. They hate us. Everything is "check the block" and "did the check clear". The professors either don't care or they will do anything to make your time here suck. God forbid you try to make a complaint to make things better. You're only met with reprisal and blackmail. Especially for my fellow disabled vets out there. Go to TCU or TCC. They're great. Trust me, I am supposed to graduate this semester.. just avoid it. Please.

I was not impressed with this place at all. Some buildings are nice, others haven't been renovated since the 70's. The roads suck, the parking situation is a joke and they hand out tickets for ANY reason, as if paying $250 for a parking permit wasn't enough. Fight your citations IN PERSON because they'll just tell you they can't do anything about it over the phone. Do yourself a favor and find a school that is worth going to where they actually want you to succeed, not just take your money, and one where you can actually find a place to park at. Life in the Army was better than putting up this place. Veterans, make Uncle Sam pick up your tab up elsewhere.

The place is good, and I love it here, but I will take the opportunity to point out that parking is pretty rough for commuters. Outside of that, I wish the school practiced more neutrality as an academic institution rather than openly siding with one of end of the spectrum. Not to say that I disagree with them; but I am here to learn about all sides of a story, not just one.

Reiterated though, overall a really great place and I am super happy and proud to have gone to school here. Great teachers too.
