I'm glad I didn't go to this school. Poor planning, construction, a joke. I was invited to attend campus, and it is a poorly organized and constructed area. The classrooms and offices are cells with no windows. I don't see anything that would make me come here.

You will struggle to find a decent job after attending this school. This type of diploma will only land you a job in retail industry, if you are lucky. Save your money! The professors are excellent though.

You cannot imagine how bad this university is. The worst of the worst. If you choose to either study here or work here, that equals committing suicide. Usually a university will have pros and cons. This university has all the cons that you can possibly imagine and not even one pro. It is in a bad neighborhood, with stupid administration, with zero money, and with a campus that was originally designed for a prison, and with low quality education. The HR department is evil. Seriously, Massachusetts should shut down this university in order to not be shamed by other states schools.

Alot of construction going on. Non of the GPS updated the new route, so it might be a bit difficult to find where you are going if you don't know this place well. Food is overpriced. Faculty and staff are mostly nice. Good study enviroment.

My niece is about to be a student there and we just going to make her transfer now because the man at their financial aid office was very rude to her, she asks is there any scholarship or financial aid for international students and their man said no , she was talking to me and she said well this suck and then man start going off on her about she should have check her finance before coming here nobody ask you to come here after that she tear up and told me "I thought you said it was going to be a better everything but in my country I wouldn't receive this kind of treatment". I'm ashamed when she said that, so I hope karma find its way to this man as for now this school get a no from me and I was the one forcing her to come to their school when she got in 7 colleges I told her Umass Boston is there best one but I don't think so anymore. Have good day evryone.

I received my undergraduate degree in Management here in 2008. I had such a positive experience, the professors are extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make your learning experience beneficial. I received my Masters from Northeastern and the quality of education at UMB was extremely comparable.

There is an electrical program at UMass Boston. Located along the Harbor Walk in Dorchester the scenery is one of the nicest college campuses in the USA. There is also a chemistry and physics undergrad coursework to study. This is a quick commute from downtown Boston about 15 minutes yet the scenery is alot of trees.

When I applied for the Spanish/English translation program I was told that I should wait for the entrance exam results before enrolling in the University and I was informed I would receive a pass/fail grade of that exam in approximately 3 weeks. Although the enrollment deadline would have been the 15June for transfer students, the entrance exam wasn’t made available until 22June and I completed it on the 23June. The exam consisted of 3 parts via an online platform; a resume, a translation and an essay. I saw that my resume was graded very promptly and given a mediocre grade of 75% as I waited to see the grades of the other parts of the entrance exam. As I continued to check the online system their was no evidence the other portions were graded and I inquired to the University about a month later. I was told by the dept. that they would look into it and I would hear something back, which I never did.

As the beginning of the program was near I sent another email this time to the director inquiring toward the end of August after I noticed that I no longer had access to the online platform. I received a reply on the 26th of August finally telling me that I didn’t qualify for the program and that I was previously sent a message in regard, that I apparently never received. I expressed my concern that the results were based on only my resume because I never saw or heard any evidence that my translations nor essay were ever looked at. It seemed to me that current students were the target participants since the entrance exams weren’t given until after the transfer student enrollment deadline.

I was later told that all three parts of the exam are graded at the same time, that I met all of the certain traits they look for in students and my results were based on my translations; this raised the question of why my resume grade was mediocre and no other parts of the exam showed as being graded. After further inquiry, the University was either unwilling or unable to provide the pass/fail score I was originally told I would receive nor able to tell me exactly when or to which e-mail address their original message was sent to; a message that cannot seem to be reproduced. Furthermore, When I finally received information that I didn’t qualify for the program it would not have been possible for me to enroll as I had already missed the enrollment deadline.

The circumstances surrounding my application and entrance exam seem questionable at best. Furthermore, I could have used the 2 months that I was waiting to hear from the UMB to search for other programs which was crippling to my academic endeavors. I find it very hard to believe that my translations were ever graded considering I had checked the online platform where I never saw the message that I am skeptical was ever sent, nor was there ever a grade entered for my translations or essay, only my resume was scored. I don’t believe I was ever given a fair chance to participate in the program and the university seemed disinterested in my valid concerns.

Easily the worst of all the UMass campuses. They are way behind the curve. I transferred to UMass Lowell and I'm very glad I did.

A small, but updated campus, I enjoyed walking through here. It is a ways from downtown Boston, but wasn't hard to find. It is also located right next to the Atlantic Ocean.

Umass Boston is full of diversity, a great campus to see different culture and learn. The cafeteria food is always full of variety and the campus center is always full of life.
