If ever there was a Church to call home, this is it! Their outreach to the local community is amazing, serving those in need in every aspect. They also serve the international community and those in need. The sermons are enlightening. I leave feeling refreshed!

Although I have attended Resurrection on and off for a number of years, I joined only recently and will serve on missions having the greatest needs. I would like to reply (speaking only for myself ) to those who commented that the church is "too big", or "not biblical," or the funding raised for the new building will lead to "corruption." I worked with and observed mission teams in Haiti shortly after the Earthquake of 2010, and again in 2011. Resurrection is very careful to partner with Haitians and to select effective long-term projects that directly benefit Haitian communities. The church is a good steward of other people's money. (Donations and funds are in good hands, and the levels of accountability are high and public.) Although it isn't always easy to speak directly to Pastor Adam, (20K members,) there are many highly skilled pastors, staff and volunteers who are committed to serving you. I remember being prepped for surgery once and given anesthesia. As I began to drift off, I noticed a pastor holding my hand and praying for me. (I had not known about her visit, and she later confirmed a member had informed her about me.) To those who say Resurrection is "non-biblical," I suggest you read The Beatitudes. Through the deeds of member volunteers, pastors and staff, Resurrection lives every one of them. Below are images of Haitian school children assisted by Resurrection members.

I have been the lighting operator at the church for the past couple months now. I really think that more people should come and try out the tech arts teams! They are a fun use of time and are involving!

A fantastic church with a place for truly everyone! This congregation is truly transforming the church as a whole. A place for thinking people who wish to wrestle with the challenges of faith and life in a thoughtful community.

    Things I Like:
    • I became a member of COR about 6 years ago. I've attended the Leawood, West & Downtown locations & watched online.
    • I've always thought Pastor Adam has done an excellent job in explaining the bible. I feel like I've gotten educatednot preached at.
Pastor Scott at the Downtown location also does a very good job conveying the sermon. The West locationI've only attended onceso I don't have an opinion for that location.

    Things I Don't Like:
    • That I've never even had the opportunity to shake Pastor Adam's hand. After church is over he quickly leaves the sanctuary. I understand that because of the amount people that attend the sevicesif he stood around to shake people's handshe'd be there until the next service started. That's one thing I find sad about when a church grows to this magnitudethe personal connection can get lost.
    • I emailed Pastor Adam one time after one of his sermons that really touched me(which I know probably goes to an assistant) because he probably gets bombarded with so manyI never got any response backnot even from an assistant. That was a real disappointment.
    • That Pastor Adam has became such of a celebrity.it looks as though he a Public Relations person responding to these post.
    • I haven't attended church in whilethe attendance has grown so much at all the servicesI just kind of feel like a number.

Things I Could Try & Do:
    • Try to find a Small Group (which I of find scary)
    • Find more ways to get/be involved.
    • Try put myself out there & make some friends

Pastor Adam Hamilton makes that church. People come there to hear his sermons and I know I have heard him say when I've been at servicestelling the congregation not to come there for him, but without himthat church would not be what it is today.

Lastly the new sanctuaryis so large, I just feel it will be even harder to feel a personal connection.
It will be like watching Joel Osteen on T.V.

This is a multiple campus church with locations in; Blue Springs, MO, Leawood, KS, Olathe, KS, and Kansas City, MO. The Senior Pastor (Adam Hamilton) delivers inspirational and non-traditional messages in person at the Leawood Campus and via video to the other campuses. Having come to this church in the last 3 years my faith has been transformed, in part due to Adams' message, he has shown me that Christian can come from any walk of life and hold any beliefs as long as he loves Jesus and loves his/her neighbors and fellow people. With a divergent view on many of the issues facing Christianity today he aims to revitalize the Church. He believes that homosexuality should not only be allowed but also embraced (he has married a gay couple himself), that a women has a right to an abortion, and that all people should be loved regardless of race, gender preference and ethnicity. All people are welcome to attend service and shouldn't feel pressured in any way. If you are looking for a church I cannot recommend this church any more highly.
