Description

Long known for its faculty strength and library resources in Modernism, Women’s and Gender studies, and Victorian studies, and with its strong cohort of faculty and graduate students working in earlier periods, the English Department a the University of Tulsa has also recently established itself as a center for Digital Humanities research and Public Humanities outreach. We offer a world-renowned Joyce collection, the archives of Nobel laureates V. S. Naipaul and Bob Dylan, the papers of Rebecca West, Jean Rhys, and Stevie Smith, and New World collections at the Helmerich Center for American Research, as well as internships with the James Joyce Quarterly, Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, and the Modernist Journals Project. Add diverse creative writing opportunities and Tulsa's dynamic downtown writing, art, and music scene, and our graduate students enjoy exceptional possibilities for research, creativity, and professional development.
