Reverend J.D. Anderson was called by the Lord as one of his preachers in 1978. He was licensed and ordained by Pastor Reverend L.G. Cook in 1982. He served as Associate Minister to True Believers until 1991 when he was called to Pastor St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey, Illinois.

Reverend Anderson served as Pastor for 7 ½ years. In 2000, he came back to True Believers as an Associate Minister until 2004. In 2004, he joined Third Baptist Church of Chicago, under the leadership of Pastor Ragland.

Reverend Anderson attended Mississippi Valley State University, where his major was Mathematics. He completed Business School in Chicago, Illinois, studying Accounting and Computers. Reverend Anderson also attended Chicago Baptist Institute for 1 ½ years and Moody Bible Institute for 1 ½ years. Reverend Anderson has taken many classes relating to the Bible and Christianity, which has benefited him in his ministry. He plans to continue his education in the near future that will aid in his Pastoral duties.

On February 17, 2007, Reverend J.D. Anderson was elected as the Pastor of True Believers Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Anderson assumed his Pastoral duties on March 4, 2007 with the goal of:

“True Believers Becoming A House of God, By God and For God.”

Pastor Anderson also began with the aim of: The People growing and developing spiritually, as he seeks his vision for God’s House of God’s People.

Pastor Anderson has been married for forty years to Mary Jean Anderson and has two children, Sandra and Rodney and one grandchild, Rodney James.

Pastor Anderson uses 1st Corinthians 15:58 as his Personal Goal: “Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for your labor will not be in vain.”

Pastor Anderson’s daily prayer is, Lord, Order My steps in Your Word….
