Expensive compared to nearby places. Clean and comfortable accommidation. Customer desk is acceptable but could be improved.

The front desk clerk and all the staff were very nice and polite to me because I made my reservations on-line and pulled up in my Mercedes. But I over-herd the front desk clerk speaking very rudely to a man who was also staying at the hotel but was not dressed nicely. Then the maid told the same man he could not eat his free breakfast the hotel provides. I saw this guest walk in and out of his room a couple times so he was staying there. The hotel simply did not like the way he was dressed! The hotel was out of line and no way would I ever stay there again.

Room was ok thus 2 stars. WARNING; dangerous environment! The place appears to be a hangout for drug users, possibly prostitution and other less than above board activities Fights, loud talking throughout DAY AND NIGHT. Opening and shutting doors at 1am 2am etc. This was the worst experience I've had at a hotel. Stayed in general area before and no place ever felt this UNSAFE.

Been here before and it was better. Door was broken and wrong room type, but they changed my room and took care of me. No cable! That's terrible. But in love the people who run it. They actually care.

Crappy rooms. The hotwire booking showed new renovated rooms. This one was however crappy. I booked this inly because it was close to one of our whale watching tours. Never again! Downright embarassing!

Location can be a little difficult to get to. Rooms are a tad run down but certainly serviceable considering the affordable rate. Microwave and fridge are includes. Beds are comfortable and clean. Air conditioning keeps room nice and cool. Adjacent to many stores and things to do. Phone number on pillows and towels.

Stay away from this place !!!! You can get a way better deal somewhere else for the amount of money the charge for a night.
We are AAA members and I can't believe they have this place an their list.
    Shame on you AAA...

We made reservations over the phone with a specific flat rate for a 5 Day stay. When we arrived, the night manager refused to honor it and charged us way more money saying it was an error with an employee. He had no remorse that we just drove 15 hours to get there after midnight. Carpets in room are extremely filthy, so do not walk barefoot or even with socks. Keep your shoes on. Continental breakfast is a waste and you're not allowed to take any food to your room. All that is served is oranges, semi-brown bananas, toast, hard boiled eggs, juice, cereal, and bagels. Staff is not friendly, nor inviting. WiFi connection is weak. Do not waste your money staying at this hotel.

The location of the hotel is convenient and right off the fwy, our room was nestled all the way in the back which was nice not to feel like you're every move is being watched by the front desk.. I was surprised how big of a flat screen TV we had in the room it almost felt like being at the theatre. Overall it was a pleasant experience for the price plus you can't beat free breakfast!

The motel is in a good location if you want to spend time in Newport Beach. But it's not a good location if you want to spend any time in your room. We stayed there two nights due to my wife's outpatient treatment in a nearby hospital. The carpet was filthy -- she wouldn't walk on it with her bare feet. The toilet was running incessantly, The faucets leaked around the base when turned on. I flopped down on the couch and almost hurt myself on the wood frame that swallowed up the cushions. Normally, we would've walked out, but my wife was in no condition to wait around while we found another place. Beside the fact that the motel wouldn't give a refund on the 2 pre-paid nights. Don't let the 3.5 star review throw you off like it did us. The room was barely worth 1 star.

The room itself was a bit dingy. There's damage on the walls, missing outlet covers, and no lock on the wall safe. I'm not sure the quality of the room was worth the money we paid. That said, the staff are all very friendly and the cleaning staff did a nice job tidying up and replacing consumables. The desk clerks greeted us with a smile and were all around cheerful, as if Disneyland cast members were on an exchange program to Travelodge. The continental breakfast was well-stocked. The location is great if you want to branch out to Newport Beach, Huntington Beach or the Balboa area, or really anywhere else in this part of greater LA.

The Travelodge was a very clean establishment the room was remarkably clean and the TV was a decent size the problem I had with it was their key system for the doors apparently it is outdated and the door several times failed to open with my key. I would recommend the Travelodge to in traveler however I also recommend that the Travel Lodge invest in a better system for their doors

Noisy AC all night, both nights . Breakfast was very conventional and that is a word for hotels giving out nothing but watered down milk and "juice" and tons of carbs. They did have hard boiled eggs though - a nice cholesterol filled option.

Update: tried staying here 1 more time (it was a hidden hotel deal ): ) and it was even worse. Yuck bathroom/tub. Next to extremely noisy freeway. Now I am totally EXHAUSTED and not refreshed at all. Lacking any energy for long drive ahead. Damn you guys. Old breaking down stairs to get up to room. Mine was the only one that I saw without a no smoking sign. Reeked heavily of smoke despite supposedly being no smoking room. 1 star, down from 2.

Price is good compared to comparable lodging, and the breakfast was mediocre at best. You get what you pay for.

Fantastic parking! Ample space, we parked a huge uhaul and a car.

The hotel is conveniently located for my needs. The check in was simple as I booked through Expedia. You will need to provide info on your vehicle during Check in. The room was clean and presentable. The bathroom door's lock did not work but not a big deal. No excessive noise. I had a good nights rest. I would stay here again.
