We are a small rural fire department serving the approx 1000 residents of the hamlet of Tillson located halfway between Kingston & New Paltz in Ulster County, New York. We handle all type of fire, medical, and rescue calls.

    Last night Tillson and Rosendale teamed up for a extrication training. We trained on using different sets of jaws, handtools and other equipment used to reach someone who is trapped.

    Yesterday members of the Tillson Fire Department participated in the 2019 Ulster County Volunteer fireman’s parade hosted by Highland Hose Co. 1 celebrating their 125th year of service. Great job by all the members who came and participated.

    We would like to congratulate Firefighter Mark Stockhofer on graduating Firefighter 1 (BEFO/IFO) this evening. Mark attended classes for approximately 6 months and successfully achieved the rank of interior firefighter. Congratulations to mark and the rest of Class 2019-1!.

    We are saddened to announce the passing of Joan Ryan. Joan is the grandmother of Assistant Chief Ryan Benincasa and social members Matthew and Michael Ryan. Sister to Past Commissioner James Rowe. Mother in law of Commissioner Armand Benincasa. Father of member Robert Ryan.. May she Rest In Peace. Services for Joan will be held today 2pm at the George Moylan Funeral Home, Route 32 Rosendale.

    The members of the Tillson Fire Department and Ladies Auxillary are saddened to announce the passing of Past Ladies Auxillary member Verda Conner-Raskoski. She is the Mother of Past Chief Fred Conner, Grandmother to Assistant Chief Brian Conner and Firefighter Adam Conner. Services are Friday 5/17 from 4-7 pm at the Joseph Leahy funeral home, Smith street Kingston.
