I have great memories of this place. My Dad was the foreman of the hatchery in 1947 and 1948. I was three and four years old, Had three or four pet deer that used to hang around the house, I bottle fed them and played with them
I visited the hatchery in 2012 for the first time since we moved to the Hartmans Creek State Fish Hatchery (now a state park) in 1948 or 1949. Nothing had changed except our log house which was built by the CCC in 1939 had been torn down. I really miss this place, wish I could live here again.

Very nice place to go visit. Interesting and beautiful location. Especially check out the waterfalls. Well worth the drive back into the woods.
