Description

The yougest of the 3 (three) independent companies is Volunteer Hose Company of Throop. This Company was charted in 1928. Over the years this company has been known by 3 (three) separate monikers; "vols" and "Throop No. 3" and after 64 (sixty four) years as primarily providing Engine Company operations to the Borough, the company established Rescue Company protocols and soon thereafter was know as the 27 Rescue. Today the American La France pumper purchased in 1992 and was the "last" vehicle built by American La France at their Dunmore, Pennsylvania facility, which is approximately 1 mile from our station located at 401 Dunmore Street, Throop. Along with the 27Rescue, we operate a Special Operations Unit known as S.O. 27. The 27 Rescue is presently led by Chief of Fire & Rescue Services Andy Hegedus. The position of Captain is held by Zachary Calvert and the position of Lieutenant is held by Jeff Granza.
