We've been coming here for years, such a great atmosphere. It's the best spot to watch the Min-Aqua Bats! Docking or launching your boat is an ease. Eat in or take food to go on the lake. The food is great! You can't beat a summer night at the Whale. If you're up I winter, snowmobile over to warm up. It's a block from downtown Minocqua and steps off the Bearskin Trail.

Fun local restaurant. I enjoyed my blackened fish sandwich. Generous portions and good food. The deck on the lake makes a beautiful setting.

The wait was insane, and they don't take reservations. We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night, with a group of 10, and they told us it would be an hour and 45 minute wait. That is a very long wait with kids. The food was good. No complaints from our group. They have an outside deck and patio on the water. We were able to watch the ski show, while we waited.

Outside seating overlooking the lake. Range of better bar food to good fish sandwiches and dinner salads. Gets busy on summer holiday weekends; you'll have to be patient

We didn't plan on eating here we were looking for a place that was open. Sat out on the deck by the water even though it was chilly, we had great food and our waitress Cat was very pleasant and bubbly. Would recommend to eat here.

This is a great place to have a drink, some appetizers or bar food, and enjoy Minocqua Lake from the outdoor seating. The food and drinks are fine, but the lake views are the reason to visit the Thirsty Whale. During summer, if you visit during the Min-Aqua Bats show, you will be able to see a lot of the action from the outdoor dining area (there is also a deck area for bar patrons which has an even better vantage point). Service was good and very fast. The seating outside is picnic tables, so don't expect anything too comfortable.

MUCH better options in town. Bad experience with service and later with management after they forgot one of our meals then served unedible burger. They told me not everyone can be happy instead of just remaking it.
