If you’ve ever watched Fried Green Tomatoes with Jessica Tandy you will recognize this amazing little town. It’s an amazing little spot in Juliette Ga! Shop grab a great bite to eat admire the beauty of the old homes and more!!! It a short drive to see two well known graves the damn is very close by and the old factory too… Yes there is also a train that still runs through that little town… oh and don’t eat the BBQ 😉

As much as I loved seeing this iconic restaurant from one of my all time favorite movies and had wonderful service and food, I’m appalled at the sign posted for all to see. Slavery isn’t a joking matter, even for this southern white woman. There are so many other options of signs to remind parents to attend to their children…even funny ones offering to give our puppies and ice cream. The Whistle Stop Cafe (Original) show some kindness and humanity rather than joking about a horrific part of America’s history and take this down!

The fired green tomatoes were the best ever. The fried chicken was tasty but dry. The collards were uninspired. Love the service and atmosphere. Well worth a visit

The Whistle Stop Cafe is a jewel. A buddy and I rode our motorcycles through a beautiful forest to visit eat here and enjoy the scenery. We were seated promptly and despite how busy the restaurant was, service and speed were second to none. All the food was piping hot and fresh. The portions were good for the price. Multiple customers bragging about how good the food is.

We stopped by on my birthday since an out of town obligation put us in close proximity and I’d always wanted to go. The wait was about 2 hours on a Sunday, which wasn’t an issue in itself, except that it proved to be a waste in the end. This place is just gross. The glasses were visibly filthy in a way that just made the servers bold for putting drink in them and handing them to you (visible food residue, cloudy all over — and not from soap) and they smelled like rotten eggs. I’ve had my share of glasses with soap spots before and just dealt with it, but all 3 of our glasses had visible food and filth all over them. We decided to not make a stink about it and instead ordered two sodas as we knew they came in cans. We were brought two very warm cans of soda (they weren’t refrigerated and I think they were kept in the warm kitchen) and two more horribly dirty glasses with ice in them; we drank warm soda out of straws.

The food was mediocre at best. The fried green tomatoes weren’t very good (in my opinion), the actual entrée was okay, and I’m 100% confident the sides were all canned veggies that were heated before serving. Our server was nice (part of the reason we didn’t want to bother mentioning how dirty all of the dishes were), but I could see other staff being a little rude and short with customers. There is one nasty bathroom right next to the kitchen so it didn’t take long for a line to form and risk blocking the kitchen doorway.

I honestly have zero desire to ever come here again — long waits for canned food and drinks served on/in filthy dishes by staff that may or may not act like your presence is a great inconvenience. Not worth the drive or wait.
