SUPPORTING ALL VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIESThe Peter P. Monaco Jr., Detachment 40 of the Marine Corps League is a nonpartisan, nonprofit federally approved 501C4 organization chartered under the Marine Corps League National Headquarters incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1937 to provide support to all veterans, their families and those entrusted to its care. Since its inception in 1958 the Detachment has strived to preserve the traditions and promote the interest of the Marine Corps while welcoming all veterans – those on active or reserve status as well as those men and women who have been honorably discharged from all branches of the United States Armed Forces.The Peter P. Monaco Jr., Detachment 40 endeavors to honor the sacrifices of those who serve honorably by enhancing their lives and the lives of their families, both at home and abroad, by fundraiser events, educational and support programs. The Detachment is committed to mentoring the youth through sponsorship of healthy programs in the community, advocating patriotism, honor and a strong sense of national pride.A portion of funds raised through detachment functions will be put aside towards a Building Fund to obtain or create a functional meeting facility. Since 2012 to date (2016), the Detachment has raised and donated over $60,000 in support of its wide range of veterans' activities.
