I love coming here with my kid. Parking is 90 minutes free you could just get a validation from Coffee Bean. That still gives you plenty of time to cruise around. There's an awesome Christmas tree now. And every night at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. they turn on the the fake snow machines. It's really cool

This place (don't hate) is like Grand Central Market but better - tons of variety and really good prices. Also, a few little stores like a candy shop and hot sauce store! Just park at The Grove and walk over towards the Cost Plus. Parking is cheap, or free if you buy something from one of the main stores.

If you haven’t visited the Original Farmers Market, do yourself a favor and go. You can’t tell that there’s a whole lot going on from the outside, but when you get in you’ll be please surprised. Lots of small boutiques, fresh produce & meats, bakeries.you name it. Also lots of places to eat from. They even have a cute little bar. Definitely a must see.

Let me tell you a bit about this farmer's market!
I came here the first time about 15 years ago obviously everything was much different and now I'm glad to see this place in a much better conditions, I saw a lot lot more people.
They still have that big selection of food, drinks and dessert.
You can eat from Chinese, italian, American and Mexican.
This is the place where all different race, religion and beliefs come together and just enjoy the nice atmosphere and super delicious food.
You can spend all day here with the family ,There is also a huge parking structure so You don't have to worry about parking, I spent like 4 hrs here and only paid 2.50 when we left.
Definitely worth it!
I highly recommend this place.

PARKING VENDOR ISSUES!!!! This place is great for food, entertainment, shopping and fashion watching. I used to come here quite often. I love the area especially during the holiday season. I visited yesterday and had a very bad experience with the parking attendee - the reason for the 3 stars. I knew there is a grace period for their parking and they were going to charge me $3.00, so I asked her the reason. She said it’s only 90 minutes free, so I wanted to know how long I was there as I did not check the time that I arrived. She was very rude when I questioned and answered in a yelling tone and just kept asking me cash or credit? So I decided to pay with a credit card. Well I decided to pay with a card and I was asking for a receipt and she told me to “Get Out” and never gave me a receipt. I do know how busy this parking can get and would never want to hold up a line as it took me 10 minutes to try to find parking alone. Well today, I just checked my charges online and she charged me$15.00 instead of $3.00! I did call the Farmer’s Market Office after my incident yesterday and they were suppose to email me a link to filing a complaint, but I have not yet received it. This is now going down on Google Review and hopefully this issue gets escalated. I hope Gilmore Properties choose their parking vendor carefully next time.

Terrific spot for a bite to eat as there are plenty of options. Finding a seat may be a challenge, it may be wise to find a seat before purchasing food. I also liked most of the area was covered/shaded. The sun I did not bake me while I enjoyed my lunch.

Love it a lot for being a spot that offers such diverse type of food. But it would be better if it would be more clean and smell not bad in some parts of the market. Renovations of the furniture could be a plus. French part with the store and authentic eatery is great, love it.

If you are from out of town and you want food choices and history this is a great place to go. It is all here. Eat all around the world from kabab to pancakes, to Greek food to Italian. Then go shopping at the Grove. Top it off with a movie. You can even ride the tram. More than a day's worth of things to do.

Gilmore Oil started it all here. What a great place to explore if you are a foodie who wants a little history mixed in. Magee's said they were celebrating 100 years in 2017. There are displays of the old baseball team who use to play here that Gilmore Oil built. The food options are tremendous and window shopping for food? Doesn't get much better. Oh yes, the eating it was better! Not big portions but very good food at most any place there. There are also a few shops inside the original part as well as new stores just beyond.

Okay, I get it, my family loves this place, but I had never been. What have I missed?! This is so much better than those pop-up food truck events. Everything you can imagine is here. Eat your way around the country and around the world in one delicious place. Come with an appetite. Be prepared to linger.

This market is freeakin' awesome! And it puts the free in freeakin'! No price of admission that is So many places to eat and explore that one could easily spend the entire afternoon at the market. Still the only place that I can get a cold draft beer, a freshly made curry puff (Singapore Banana Leaf), a macaroon (Monsieur Marcel), and a tub of nut butter! Come hungry!

Wow. So much history in this historic farmers market. Very awesome. I especially like the 5 historic highlights labelled on the map. Nearly every type of cuisine is available, though most stands only take cash. Also a large variety of souvenirs. Unfortunately, one of the designs on the penny presser was offset, and when I told customer service and asked for my 51 cent refund, the lady tried to return me only one penny

I've been coming to the farmers market since I could barely walk. It is a great shopping destination and a wonderful place to sip a coffee and people watch.

We love the Brazilian restaurant. If you are not into lots of tasty charred meat, they have a great salad bar.

The French market is also fun. Get some French bread and pate and have a picnic.

And of course there are plenty of vegetables and fruits.

Worth an afternoon or evening.

Keep in mind that the vendors only validate parking for the farmers market lot, not the structures at the grove.

I feel like I am being generous by rating this 4/5. Farmers Market is definitely a cool thing to do while visiting LA, but if you are limited on time, there are better things to do. We only spent about 2hrs here exploring the market and the Grove. The bottom line is that there just isn’t a whole lot to do. The majority of the booths at the market are food booths and you can find a wide variety of options to choose from. Its sad because you can not eat at all of the places here, so once you have lunch, your day is pretty much over. We did enjoy the fact that the market allows dog, which makes it a fun half-day event to take your pet to.

All these moderately priced food stalls are what makes the $$$$Grove next door thrive. Without this great place the Grove would shrivel and die.perfect place for a group to be satisfied. Split up and get what you want at the 50+ great food stall offerings, then meet back in the middle courtyard under the shade trees and all eat together. BRILLIANT. Been here a 100 years for a reason. Don't miss it.
