The hotel and room were clean. The few staff I saw while there did not come across as very friendly. We ate at the restaurant which had a limited menu due to the hotel being completely booked to film a show. The food was not good and the service was also not great.

Whirl pool, steam and dry sauna, jetted tub in room. Great place for hydrotherapy.

Common areas are showing some wear but rooms are still nice and although a bit dated. Staff were wonderful and the setting is very peaceful.

What used to be a gem has nose dived into a look else where!
For a higher priced stay this is a joke. Below are some of the highlights from our $350+ stay

    1.No room service
The ONE person cleaning the rooms went home early and did not clean our room.
Stay here if you like cleaning your own room and making the bed yourself.
One more day and we would have to launder our own sheets.

    2. Horrid restaurant.
WAY Overpriced, under cooked and he forgot half the items. The worst.

    3.No Wifi
No cell service, NO Wifi at least one you could get a connection on.

    4. No staff
No one answers the phone at the front desk
    No maid service see above.

    7. Bad Management
The current management never answered our email and clearly cares little for the people that supported this place over the past 15 years.
We are done with this place

    Look else where!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The decor looks a little dated in some of the guest rooms, but the whole place is very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant is excellent as well. The scenery is lovely, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing. I also thought that the prices for the rooms were really reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is a place that everyone needs to see at least once in their lifetime. I didn't exactly know what to expect upon arrival but was blown away once I got inside. It's an endless maze of random and cool things you won't get to see anywhere else.

The suite we had was really nice - bathroom had soaking tub with Jacuzzi jets and a rain-head shower. Bed was nice and firm. Only negative was that on Saturday the restaurant only offered a buffet for breakfast instead of being able to order off of the menu. Buffet choices were pretty limited and cost was high.

I was pretty disappointed by the resort overall. My boyfriend surprised me with a one night stay in a king suite and a couples spa package costing more than $400. Right away when we got there we went to our spa appointment. The two ladies that gave us our foot treatment and massage were the best part of the whole resort. Super sweet, welcoming and fully explained the entire process before they began any treatments. They even gave us tips on where to eat and directions. (Freddy Valentine's was awesome! And the General store breakfast is worth the wait.) We were given spa water and chocolate when we arrived. The foot treatment was amazing and you get to lie down the entire time. Very clean, professional and the products they used were great for sensitive skin. The massages were equally as enjoyable. They had soothing water and ocean sounds and used coconut oil. After this everything went down hill. Our room was dirty - we couldn't go on the balcony because there were so many spiders, spider webs and dirt on the furniture. The room had garbage behind the night stands from the previous occupants. The room was supposed to come with a Jacuzzi, but instead had a normal outdated tub with two rusty jets that we couldn't use because it was so gross. The furniture looked like it had been heavily used since the 70's. I love the retro idea, but there were stains and fading and look like they don't get vacuumed on a regular basis. The bed was horribly uncomfortable with dollar store sheets. We thought we'd go in the steam room and that was also a let down. The men's steam room didn't get hot, and the women's had gobs of hair and chunks of rotted grout all over the floor. I was afraid to sit on the tile without a towel underneath me. For the price we paid I expected a much higher standard. This was more equal to a motel 6. And we aren't snooty or high class in the least bit. I just expect you get what you pay for. I will say, the service was amazing though. Very attentive and treated us very kindly. Check in/out was a breeze. Golf course was immaculate (though we don't golf). And the view of the lush hillsides were breathtaking. I think they spend all the money on the golf course and landscaping rather than updating or restoring the place back to it's original beauty.

We stayed at the house on the rock resort this past weekend and it was pretty good! We stay a lot of hotels for a lot of reasons, so I've had better and worse experiences. It didn't stand out very much to be honest, but it was the first time I've stayed at a non chain resort. The pools (two of them!) were clean and nice, and I resent the fact that I didn't get any spa services while I was there because they sounded great. The restaurant was buffet only which was disappointing, but the food was delicious. My only real complaint is that they gad wifi, but it didn't span the whole hotel. It's something that could easily be fixed by upgrading the hardware, so it was a bit annoying. But to my knowledge they didn't even advertise the fact that they had it so I can't really hold it against them. The location was beautiful, deep in the country and surrounded by trees. I will say that since I'm not into golf the fact that the wilderness was ruined for a golf course was gross to me, but I knew what I was getting into. It's not often I go to a hotel that isn't in the city so this was a great change of pace- golf or otherwise. Altogether, I'd give it a 4/5. Not the best, but certainty not the worst.

We stayed at the resort, which is a few miles from the attraction. The website is not all that state of the art but phone works best when making a reservation. The resort itself is located in a beautiful locale with a lot of scenic appeal.

We had a suite - spacious and equipped with an old but functional microwave. They perhaps used to have a mini kitchenette but have discontinued leaving the hob and some bare cabinets still in there. Disappointingly, the shampoo-conditioner-lotion bottles appeared to be used and half full.

We did not try the restaurant - and perhaps for good reason - there were too many guests and not everyone had their turn. The swimming pool is indoors at the lower level and quite a nice space for kids largely. There was a fitness center too that looked spacious but no one in there.

No free breakfast but recommend driving around to a local subway or Culvers.
