We were remodeling our closet - new flooring & shelving. 2 Home Depot people came over & with our measurements got us what we we needed & pushed our cart for us. It was really nice to work with people who knew what they were doing. I really appreciate the Veterans Discount. Thanks

Hey, it's a Home Depot. What more can I say other than this store in Lawrence, KS has great and friendly help.

I feel like I am walking into a swamp rat lair when I enter these stores. I can get a little excitement to walk the aisles and no one asks if I need help while I notice the over clutter laying around everywhere. I'll go next door to Menard's for a much better experience.

Store is way undersized for a home improvement center. Contractor checkout is crowded with too much other stuff. Clean it up a bit and get rid of the clearance items might help.

I asked an employee to help me find a specific product by name that I had checked for on the store website and just couldn't find on the shelves. Instead of directing me to the product, he asked several questions about what I was going to use it for and in a very patronizing tone told me he didn't think it was going to work. (It was a project that I had done successfully several times before, and went to school for years to learn the techniques associated with, plus I didn't really ask for advice.) He then steered me in the direction of something completely different and not useful for what I wanted to do. I didn't want to be rude so I humored him and followed him around the store for about 10 minutes and pretended to thoughtfully peruse the section of the store he lead me to until he wandered off, but I ultimately gave up on finding what I was actually looking for and went somewhere else.

This is the only bad experience I've had at home Depot and I'm normally not much of a review writer, but I worry that this situation may have come from a policy of training employees to act like they have expertise in any type of work you tell them you are doing, and this really rubs me and probably most people the wrong way.

It's a common Home Depot, there is never a store employee around to help you with top shelf items or answer any questions you may have about a product. When there is an employee around they are usually not knowledgeable.

Displays items they are out of and can't sell the display because they're fake. TAKE IT OFF THE SHELF

Home Depot is my favorite local store. I have two charge accounts there. They have so many of the things I need both for work and around the house. And they have special interest free options for paying with their credit accounts.

I have to say overall I like this place. Certainly not to the point where I hate going in. The staff is usually friendly and helpful if they aren't too busy. I do wish checkout were a little quicker.

I asked for help finding a specific tool i couldn't find on my own. The associate said they would send over their "tool guy". I waited for fifteen minutes for the "tool guy" just for him to tell me they dont have it, even though it says they have it in-store online...

Overall I've enjoyed shopping at HD here in Lawrence. With Menards coming in next door they've stepped up their game. Treated lumber is now higher quality "cedar like" look instead of the usual "green" looking lumber. Parking lot completely sealed, new lines painted and updated cart corrals, all I'm sure in anticipation of competition. It's too bad it took competition to make these improvements.

This HD is a busy place. There seems to be plenty of helpful staff that are always (mostly) cheerful and ready to help you. Their inventory is usually adequate for most projects. I'd like to see a bigger selection of fasteners, but that's what Ace Hardware is for.

Value for price is fair, quality of lumber is about what you get anywhere. All in all this is a good place to find your building project needs.

Good prices, good selection. Could use a different layout.

Smaller store, but can't blame them. However staffing has really gone down hill. Slow evening and it took me 20 minutes to get help to purchase an electrical breaker that was behind a locked plexiglas box. Two employees didn't know the combination so they had to track down a manager to get it open.
