Awesome concert venue for a college town. Brings in many big name rock, pop, hip-hop, and indie acts that you couldn't otherwise find in an area overrun by country music. Easily accessible bar with reasonable prices, large restrooms. Very well laid out.

The venue is okay, up-close and personal for sure. The bartender was great. Unfortunately, our show was delayed by over an hour because the Granada decided at the last minute to play a basketball game on the wall. That sucked.

A cool intimate venue. The stage is pretty small but the band's make the most of it. It gives a nice opportunity to get up close to bands that are playing.

One of the absolute best places to see a concert in Lawrence. It is a small venue with a split viewing area 20 feet from the stage. This provides a nice close view of a band, even if you do not feel like pressing the stage. Super nice staff with generous pours of liquor at the bars..

Not a bad venue. Can get a pretty good view from any location. Place looks grimmy but I didn't not expect much. Price of tickets and drinks were very cheap. Would see bands here in the future. Parked in a parking garage about a block away. Good places to eat close by. Are able to leave and grab a bite to eat if there is a band in the line up you don't care for.

I found this venue to be pretty standard compared to typical places. Being from Omaha, NE, I would compare it to attending a show at Sokol Auditorium but perhaps a little smaller, with a floor layout more like the Slowdown. Maybe I'm just used to it but I didn't think the place was particularly dirty, just old and in need of a little TLC. The sound was decent but not overwhelmingly amazing. The drinks were at a fantastic price point so I'm not sure why others say it was super expensive. We got tequila sunrises for 4 bucks a piece which is a steal compared to the 8+ we were expecting to pay. Someone pointed out to us that it was technically a college campus so perhaps that's where the expectation comes from anyway, I was happy with my experience for the most part. Still not quite sure why the staff had us get numbers for a general admission show they said it was in case a mob screwed up the lines or whatever but to me it defeats the purpose of general admission. I can imagine I'd go there often for shows if I was local. Will possibly watch them for tours after seeing what acts they've pulled to play there historically. Overall a decent experience. I'd feel safe going there alone. The staff were perfectly decent to us so I really have no complaints about the venue for what it is.

Just saw Beats Antique here tonight. It was my first time at this venue. It's a great venue for an up close visit with the band of your choice.

Employees were great. I didn't drink so I can't comment on the drinks.

Great place! Please don't ever close down.

It's a passable music venue, but it's dirty and dark. The floors are typically sticky, as are a lot of the railings. The sound system is great, however, and the stage is large.

It's sultry, dark, and filthy in most senses of all three of those words. Always packed, rarely sober, and never politically correct (they've been known to host an annual "Extreme Midget Wrestling" night), this place is certainly a dive. NEVERTHELESS, they get unique shows and you can often score a cheap ticket. For what it is, the place has character and I've had fond memories there.

Best place in town to find cool shows but the venue itself is a bit depressing. Boring stage with average sound. Go downtown KC if you want something special

Generally, anytime I have to drive across the Missouri state line to go see a show I'm a little bit on the grumpy side. However, I look forward to good shows that come through this venue, because it really is a pretty good place to see/hear a show! Lawrence, Kansas is in itself an adventure, and I highly suggest walking around before the doors open to take in the atmosphere and maybe even stop in at one of the local pizza bars littered up and down the street. The culture of Lawrence consistently pulls me in and makes me forget all about being far from home. The staff is moderately polite and respectful to the patrons and once you are through the doors, you have the choice of watching this show upstairs in a seated environment, or downstairs in the pit. With the right group, those mosh pits are thoroughly intense and violent. The opportunity to see some very intimate shows arises here, but being a college town there can be quite a group of young aggression pushing their way up towards the front.
Drinks are reasonable for the price and the sound inside is better than you'd expect, given the size of the room. I definitely recommend visiting or checking out this concert hall just for the additional pleasure of getting to experience a piece of what Lawrence is all about.

Its a two tiered room so you can actually see over the bottom crowd, which is nice. The bathrooms were pretty clean also. Good drink prices. It is pretty small or I would give it a 5.

The Granada always puts on some of the best and memorable shows. I used to be bitter against this venue for it's weird lay out, but now I'm thankful that it provides basically two up front experiences having both a lower and upper level. Sound is always rad, and it's always great to have bar venue that also hosts under 21 attendees.
