Was a nice place to stop in for a late lunch on a weekend. 15-20 min wait was reasonable. Definitely recommend the Impossible burger - delicious! Staff was friendly and options were plentiful.

Food was decent, but overpriced. Service was terrible. Don't go here unless you like to be ignored by the wait staff.

The food is just so so. We ordered a mahi burger. The fish was too dry and tasteless. The wait was way too long. 40 minutes for a burger for lunch on a weekday.

My friend told me it was a well rated burger joint and convinced me to check it out. They have a build your own burger menu and a pre-defined burger menu.

I wanted to try something different and ordered the 1/3 lb Korean BBQ burger. It was cooked to order and featured pickled carrots, daikon and Korean BBQ sauce. I was surprised how good it tasted as I wasn't sure about pickled carrots and daikon on a burger. The $10 for the burger does not include a side, but I ordered the seasonal grilled corn for $3 more. The quarter corn cob was smothered in feta cheese and a southwestern style sauce. The combination of flavors was excellent!

Even though we sat at the bar due to very limited seats available (they were packed), customer service was much better than expected by the bar tender.

Overall, it was a great experience. I had good food, drinks, and great customer service (which makes it or breaks it for me on a first visit). I will be back again because there is so much to try!

Always great to come back to this location. Great food and the adult milkshakes are awesome! Vanilla and bourbon always hits the spot!

After a few mishaps with my order (lacking one of the toppings I ordered and well-done when ordered medium), I received my burger. The burger was actually very good, cooked to the appropriate temperature and flavorful. I would have preferred hand-cut fries to the shoestrings but that may just be a preference. The bar staff and manger were very nice and responsive and comped my meal after the issues. If I were a local, I would frequent this place.

The cool thing about this place is that you can create your own burger; you have tons of combinations that you can pick, so you can really let your imagination free. The big problem is that whatever was in your imagination is probably going to remain there.

We ordered burgers and fries for take-out and the didn't get the order right. My wife had specifically said no cheese because of her intolerance, and of course there was melted cheese on the patty. We asked for the burger to be done correctly. They were more than happy to do it and screw it up again. The cheese wasn't there, but so wasn't the lettuce that we asked for. Instead, they decided out to take the initiative, and add grilled onions, which my wife didn't order.

    Honestly disappointed!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Reston. I love the fact that I can have a Bison salad with grilled pineapple. The staff was very nice and the food is great. Whenever I come back to town I will for sure stop in for some more great food.

So I love The Counter but it's prices make it a once in a while thing for me. Personally I love their versatility of options for their burgers, the make a great bison burger. My favorite combo is a bison burger with cheddar on a pretz l bun with one of their delicious strawberry milkshakes. I also recommend their sweet potato fries as they don't over season these like some places do.

They had the best burgers in the area. some of the best I ever had. I guess they were too expensive, but you get what you pay for. The closest one is at 700-A Allied Way El Segundo CA 90245. I haven't been there yet.

First of all, the burgers took about an hour and a half to come out. It wasn't just mine that arrived late, all the tables around me were complaining about their food coming out late as well.
Second, the orders for quite a few tables came out incorrect. Mine came out with different toppings that I didn't order or want.
Third, the burger itself was cold when I bit into it. It didn't taste like they just pulled it off the grill. The manager was walking around to every table apologising for the mistakes and giving free burger cards for the next visit.
Overall, interesting idea for a restaurant, lots of good menu options and the food looks good but terrible service and terrible quality for their high prices. I wouldn't go here again.

I've been here for lunch and dinner 8-9 times combined as it's close to work and home. Generally the burgers and salads are good, albeit pricey. The reason I can't rate this place higher is that the service is inconsistent. It seems like every other time I've visited I've had a server who disappeared for long stretches, and who seemed generally disinterested. It's never been the same person. Perhaps the kitchen is the bottleneck but that doesn't mean the servers can't consistently check in. I haven't given up completely on this place as I've generally been happy with the food but it's a third or fourth choice at best.
