New subscription & only signed up for Sunday in print form. Never received a Sunday paper for weeks on end. Filed a complaint every week for over a month. Never to this day got a single delivery. Not once. Canceled and filed for refund and every time I call them I get out on hold on dead silence for 10 minutes. Never got responses from emails sent or online forms submitted. And pretty sure they sell your information.. after I signed up, thankfully providing them a free number provided to no one, I started getting calls and texts galore from spam callers at a number NO ONE, not even spammers, had ever called. Do not sign up at any of the grocery stores. They clearly have third party reps working on commission and have to bribe you with gift cards. I merely signed up for the service as a trial and thankfully have since gone in and removed my actual billing info in fear of bogus subscription charges. This is so annoying because we actually wanted to keep this type of service alive but this newspaper is driving the nail in the coffin even further for an already dying concept.
did not receive a newspaper for 6 months. called and complained every week. never received the paper and was still sent a bill when my "subscription" ended. customer service is a joke.
I still have not received one newspaper that was supposed to be started 3 weeks ago. I’ve called several times about it and still nothing has happened. Very frustrated with the service plus customer service just tells me they will escalate it up to the manager. Extremely aggravating. Would not recommend delivery.
No delivery for 12 days out of the past 30. Daily calls and emails are ineffective. They have no delivery personnel or substitutes. Who would pay over $1300.00 for an annual subscription that is not delivered? Absurd.
No surprise the rating is 1.2. Hopefully this post will be a warning to those who subscribe to the Charlotte Observer, even if it's a "free" subscription to start. Their terms and conditions, you know, the small print, that you missed, says, and I'm paraphrasing we'll continue the subscribe and bill you and if you don't pay, we'll send it to collections to get our $29. Just beware. That's all I'm saying. Good luck.
