Had lunch here mid December 2017. Great Tex-Mex.. reasonably priced.. Had Baja fish tacos with coconut rice and it was great!! Husband had burrito and said best he has had in a long time!! Generous with portions of food.. when we come back will dine here again. Only negative we had was.. first Mexican restaurant that chips and salsa are not served without asking or paying for.. otherwise.. it was a hit!!

We're from Oklahoma but anytime we are able to visit Asheville we have lunch at The Cantina. We know good Tex Mex and this absolutely qualifies. The last time we visited we shared fajitas and couldn't finish them. We've always had good servers. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food. One of the best chimichangas I have ever had. They also have a great program that if you skip your sides they donate to a food bank.

We came for lunch and there was no lunch menu.so we split a dinner. We waited quite awhile before our order was taken .no straws were brought with waterwe had to get up to get them.we were also waiting for our chips only to find out that you have to pay for them which I have never run across at a Mexican restaurant..because I asked about chips our waiter was nice enough to give us a coupon for free chips next time which was nice. The food was tasty and the atmosphere is nice but considering the price for the amount of food you get with no chips, we won't be back.too many other great Mexican restaurants.

A teacher friend and I stopped here for margaritas after work on Friday. I told the server I wanted one without the sugary sour mix they use and she suggested the Skinny which uses fresh lime juice and agave. It came in a wine glass with hardly any salt on the rim. The margarita itself was devoid in flavor. I asked her to bring extra limes and a shot of Cointreau to share between my friend and I. It did help but the next time I ordered a margarita I asked her to make it like the skinny but to add Cointreau and a bit of pineapple juice. When she brought me that one it was completely pineapple juice with tequila and I could not taste any Cointreau at all. I had to add extra lime to even make it taste like a margarita. When we received the bill she charged me $10 for each of the Margaritas plus $8.50 for each shot of Cointreau even though the second one was incorporated into the margarita and was not bought as an extra shot. I pointed this out to her and told her that $8.50 for a shot of Cointreau was absurd and I did not order a shot in the second drink I just wanted her to add it to the margaritas so that it tasted better.. She nodded and said that she did not have anything to do with the prices. When she came to pick up our checks she said that she mentioned it to the manager but that there was nothing they could do. I will never be back to this establishment again. Almost $40 for two Margaritas! With the amount of restaurants in this town with good drinks, why waste your time going here? I was shocked as we were leaving that people were waiting to get in here. Tourist trap? Not for me, I'm a local and I know where to find good food and drinks.

A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Great quality of food and more then we could eat. Staff was great and friendly. They were very attentive to my wife's gluten intolerance. We will be making this a regular spot for dinning.

Great outdoor patioespecially on a beautiful day in June. Loved the steak fajitassome of the best Ive eaten. Tender real steak.not the typical kinda tough think beef. If you are in the Biltmore Village area.and wanting some nice quality Tex Mex..I would recommend this place.

Great menu variety. Very delicious tacos. Missing star is due to food being slow coming from kitchen and we got there ahead of dinner crowd. Server was very helpful with menu and attentive to our table.

The ambience is great but pricing was not good for what you get. I guess the have to match pricing to match the over priced biltmore. First of all they charge you for chips and salsa. The food was good but not great. Overall the staff was good but food was mediocre.

We booked this place for our small, casual wedding reception and we were very happy and pleased, specially due to having to do it from another state. Justin was very helpful throughout the whole process and once we all arrived the staff was helpful as well. The food, service, and the whole experience was great!!

Message: So, it's the first day of Spring, it's 73 degrees but the Cantina only has half the patio open, and only half of the open patio is open - there is room for several more tables and chairs. When i asked the manager in charge if I could move a table and a couple of chairs from the "closed" patio" section over to the half full "open" patio section (which would have taken about 15 seconds) I was told that a table would be available soon (after waiting 10 minutes). There are hardly any customers on the inside and a lot of staff standing around doing nothing.

Really? We have Spring-like weather but half the patio is closed and the other half only has half the tables it could actually accommodate???Though I approached the manager about the situation and offered my own assistance - he didn't want to do anything to help us.

What has happened to quality customer service? I would have gladly carried the table and chairs myself to avoid sitting in a restaurant that was 75% empty and waiting another 10 minutes for one of the five patio tables to come open (on a patio that accommodates twice that many tables - not to mention an open patio section with PLENTY of tables and seats that remained closed). REALLY? Couldn't just ONE of the people inside that were standing around doing NOTHING have helped out?

Needless to say, we left and went across the street to eat and have decided to never frequent any restaurant that cannot adapt to a simple situation to appease a good and frequent customer.

So strange to see a post from a customer from a month ago (that would have been February) saying that there was "Tons of outdoor seating" (Kyle Winslatt noted below).
