We got married here on this October and had nothing to complain about! Neither my fiance or I are from the area so everything from planning the wedding to coordinating vendors to ensuring our out of town guests (a.k.a. everyone) were comfortable was a bit more of a challenge. This challenge was met with ease with the calm and efficient Terrace Bay staff. Jen and Valeria were always helpful by phone, in person, or e-mail through the planning process and took extra time when I happened to be in own to go over details again in person. Cole was a very relaxing and confident man to leave the day of details in the hands of and we never once felt pressured or worried that everything wasn't going to go as planned. The entire staff was excellent at handling quick last minute changes like throwing in a slideshow or smoothly changing out a tablecloth after an accidental spill.
Having an entire wedding of out of town guests we were also very pleased with the hotel itself. It is an older hotel which the control freak side of me worried about, but I didn't hear any complaints, and heard compliments on how well maintained it was and how clean the rooms were. Even with a rain day over the weekend everyone provided positive feedback about the beautiful view and relaxed setting of the hotel. We lucked out that our wedding day was lovely and the guests were free to mingle on the terrace under the moonlight as they took a breather from the dance floor. The bar was comfortable and character filled, our guests enjoyed multiple meals at the hotel restaurant, and the staff even allowed us to use an additional room so our families could all sit together and socialize the night before the wedding. All of these efforts, big and small, made for a relatively stress free and fun wedding weekend at the Terrace Bay Hotel that I would recommend to anyone! Thanks Jen, Valeria, Cole and the rest of the staff!

Absolutely by far, the most beautiful motel we have ever stayed at. Comfortable, elegant and semi remote. There is a hidden boardwalk behind the motel, with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, a gorgeous gazebo also overlooking the bay, the pool is a little small, but the rooms make up for it. The rooms are set up so we never heard the bridal party in the room next to us. There is a jacuzzi in our room.. it's been an amazing experience. We will definitely be back soon

Amazing hotel. Super nice view and great service. Very quiet and peaceful. Helpful staff. Nice swimming pool with little chlorine and nice jacuzzi. Totally recommend. Left my daughters blanket on accident and they shipped it to us right away. Planning to stay there again!

I was here for maybe 5 minutes before leaving to find somewhere else to stay. My room looked nothing like the pictures that are shown online. There were stains on the walls, chairs and bed. Everything in the room looked very cheap. Especially for the price that my husband and I paid for the room. The entire place also has a bad smell. This could be due to either the fish gutting room attached to the building. Or just overall lack of cleanliness. We never got a refund.

Got a discounted room because the toilet didn't work quite right (but still worked well enough). Building seems quite old but well maintained. Has a great view of the bay, great pool/hot tub, and a decent continental breakfast. Would stay again.

Excellent all around older motel but maintained perfectly. I recommend the lake view rooms entrance from the inside and outside.
Awsome food with a great lounge makes a great bloody Mary. Kids loved the indoor swimming pool and spa. Very spacious motel throughout. Best bang for buck most certainly.

Old style quality. Friendly, helpful staff. Room had all expected amenities including comfortable bed. At certain times of day shower water temperature fluctuates a lot. But I would stay there again.

Located north of Escanaba, this hotel is rich with history. The exterior is nothing special, and the rooms are basic. Various sections of the hotel have been around since the 1920s. The structure has been added onto and remodeled several times over the years. Although some areas of the hotel are quite old, everything is clean and well maintained. Most rooms have beautiful lake views. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub with a lake view. Other features include free breakfast in their nice lounge with lakeviews. The bar and ballroom have a rich history. It is a nice place with character for special events.

Good value for money. Stayed one night. Friendly staff. Beautiful views. Rooms were clean, but hallways were a little stinky like cat urine. Pets aren't allowed, so not sure if it was another guest or what. Overall, a fair deal for price.

To be honest, I didn't expect much pulling into the lot. I was wrong. Very nice place. It's obvious they have put some time and $ into updates. The restaurant and beer were great as well as the view of the lake! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We called weeks ahead and confirmed a king suite with hot tub. I made sure to ask if the hot tub was in the room because we had a previous experience with a hotel where the hot tub was just a glorified shower tub in the bathroom.

After arriving in our room, there was no hot tub to be found. The front desk explained that this has been an issue in the past, as only some of their suites have hot tubs but the website shows a photo of the hot tub with all suites. The owner then said we should have "read the description" and disregarded the photo. Asking for a compromise, we were offered a separate queen room at full price. We found lodging up the road for half the cost.
