I came all the way from California to revisit this place after many years. It never ceases to amaze me. The history behind this sacred building, the sacrifice that was required. It stands as an emblem for me and my family.
Even if you can't enter inside the Salt Lake Temple, there are plenty of things to do. Taking pictures, sitting on the grass, touring the buildings.
You can feel the spirit wherever you go!
Such attention to detail in this little garden/park. Wonderful for travelers and sight seers to capture the essence of Utah in one picture. Flowers, fountains, and various buildings encompass this nice little find. At night it's lit up as well setting quite a romantic mood. Visitor centers can be reached from here. Benches to sit and enjoy the views from every angle. Access to temple and Mormon tabernacle as well from here.
This is a great place to go to learn more about the LDS faith and to practice your faith. I have been there many times to see the lights at winter, walk through the visitors center, or go to the temple. I had a great chat with a missionary on a bad day--they are always sweet and willing to answer your questions. In the visitors center, you can learn more about Christ, what is inside the temple, and family. Cute brides and grooms always stand outside the temple, eager to be sealed together, young love. Definitely a one of a kind place. You don't want to miss this educational opportunity.
We love Temple Square it's a very spiritual place where you can feel joy, peace and happiness through the holy spirit. Where you can learn about the Savior, and know he loves you beyond measure! I'm grateful for the atonement as well as the Resurrection through the Savior Jesus Christ and that he lives and that we can because of him be resurrected which is a free gift to all that have ever lived! I'm grateful for prophets! Jesus has always communicated to all of us through the prophets-Amos 3:7! It's so beautiful at Temple Square you need to there!
I've been to Temple Square more times than I can count. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful with mature trees, shrubs and thousands of flowers. The architecture of the buildings are awe-inspiring and it's a wonderful, peaceful place to tour or spend time meditating. There are two visitor centers with knowledgeable guides to answer questions. The main visitor center has a large marble statue of Jesus Christ in a rotunda with a beautifully painted vista of the universe as a background. I love spending time there. The Tabernacle is world famous because of it's unusual architecture, amazing acoustics and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir that performs there. You can literally hear a pin drop no matter where you are in the building. And of course, the Temple is there and it is a magnificent architectural wonder worth seeing. You won't be able to go inside unless you're a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also known as Latter-day Saints, LDS, or the more popular nickname of Mormons. I highly recommend a visit. Plan on several hours if you want see everything.
What a breathtakingly beautiful park in downtown Salt Lake City. Even in October, there is a variety of fragrant flowers to enjoy. It feels so peaceful to walk among the fountains, stunning architecture and see the array of colorful flowers. If you are a flower lover, you must come here.
Whether you are a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints or not, this is is a lovely place for a stroll.
Pro Tip:
- Come around dusk to see how colorful the sky becomes behind the temple!
An American treasure, no matter your religious beliefs. It is an architectural wonder in this city of great surprises. I visited in Spring when blooms abounded in the gardens. The view from the top of that main administration building is deeply profound and magnificent.
Amazingly beautiful placenot only the gardens, but the volunteers and missionaries who help you interpret your visit throughout the Square. Do NOT miss the lookout atop the Administration building in which a volunteer will take you up and point out lots of things in the Square and beyond. The Temple building exhibit in the South Visitor Center was very interesting and missionaries very helpful in learning more about the Mormon faith and the buildings in the Square. We asked at the North Visitor Center to see "The Legacy" and 2 lovely missionaries, one from Thailand and the other from Guatemala, set up the theatre just for us to watch this very interesting film about how the Mormons came to settle in SLC. The Square has some of the most beautiful annual gardens I have ever seen. Park in City Creek (the mall area that is across the street from the Square)first 2 hours are free.
This is the best place for a December date. The lights are bomb and the environment is straight chilling. Also the missionaries are so cool. They are from all over the world and they are there to serve you so take advantage of their presence to answer your questions.
It’s been a while since I was here.
I sat here because I was feeling tired (from walking around), and I was so glad I did. Let’s call it a happy accident.
It gave me time to take in things.
Beautiful weather
Beautiful location
Friendly people
It’s a great place to relax and soak up a peaceful atmosphere, and just reflect on things.
I would recommend this place for a visit if in the area.
Some one called it tranquil, in another review that’s the word to describe this area.

Went during Christmas time for a wedding. The lights were amazing. The pool in front of the Temple was lit up and was gorgeous. The buildings were amazing architecture. The individuals who had designed the colored lights had put unusual colors together and it turned out beautiful. Something to see for sure regardless of faith.
Beautiful flowers in the spring/summer and amazing Christmas lights in the winter! The photo opportunities are incredible. The missionaries are friendly and helpful. I've been to several musical performances too. If you've got time you've got to visit.
Traveled to SLC on business and was told that if there was one thing I HAD to do, was see Temple Sq. The grounds were well maintained and cared for. People in the visitors center were nice, which is to be expected. I was able to roam around and read the history without being bothered which was nice. Overall, I can mark it off my check-list of places I've been, but won't likely return to. Particularly if this is meant to be the "heart" of Downtown.
Gorgeous, clean, friendly. Yes, the missionaries wanted to talk about the teachings but consider where we are. They were very nice and there was no pressure to stay and talk. Very informative and the Tabernacle, home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is beautiful! Amazing pipe organ and acoustics! We didn't get to see the choir practice but watched and listened to a very talented gentleman play the organ. Temple Square is a lovely place to take photos! On that note, they allowed photos and videos inside and out with the exception of during performances. We didn't get to see it all but it was a good short visit.
