Tau Beta Pi (TBP) is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885. There are now collegiate chapters at 242 US colleges and universities, 39 active alumnus chapters in 16 districts across the country, and more than 554,000 total members.The Michigan Gamma chapter at the University of Michigan is one of the largest chapters in the nation and was the nation's most active chapter in 2022, hosting more than 150 events.
