We went there for their Christmas program. A bit of sticker shockat 6 per person but we enjoyed our time as we walked the grounds. They've got some great Homestead type cabins for rent at a very reasonable price and the museum obviously the centerpiece is really really cool. A lot of the cabins were outfitted for various craft for sale so we had a good time checking that out as well.

Beautiful park with lots of local history. We like to visit in the mornings and practically have the place to ourselves. Also good to visit when the craft cabins are open. So much information to see in the museum and the furnaces; really gives a good understanding of Birmingham's role in the industrial revolution and the transition from a slave based economy to manufacturing.

Wonderful place to spend the weekend. It was fun for all ages (4- 64)! Part of our group stayed in the primitive cabins. They're really great because you get the feeling of true camping but you do get relief from mosquitoes and the perpetual heat with air conditioning. The whole area is generally quiet. Great bike trails for the experienced and the novice riders. The rest of the group stayed in the Post Office Cabin. It was spacious and gave us a great "base camp" location for family meals and clean showers.

My family loves Tannehill. The cabins are great and at good prices. Lots of camping sites and bike trails. Lots of things to do and events for kids.

OMG!! What a hidden treasure! I have lived in Tuscaloosa 5 years no one ever told me about Tannehill!!! The people working are SO nice!! The place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! AND we went on a gray sky day. So we will definitely be back! Walk around look at all they have! You won't regret it!!!

Great park! Beautiful and great for kids. Very cool if you are interested in learning about history. Also, amazing Halloween decorations by the campers. Worth a visit if you are near by in October.

Great place to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and unwind with family. This is one of the most picturesque deciduous forests I've ever seen. In addition to the natural beauty, the historical context provided by the museum connects the place to the past.

Can't say enough about this place! Not only is the RV park nice but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rest of the park is fascinating with lots of great history and a beautiful trout stream that we waded around in. Highly recommended for a weekend/weekday get away!

They have great campsites that are inexpensive and the park staff are very nice and helpful. They keep the park in great condition and the bathhouses clean. The general store has just about anything you may need. There is a lot to do for families, such as, hiking, biking (bring your own), fishing and swimming. They also have a trolley train that will take you to Trade Days (check dates). My family had a lot of fun and we will be going back soon!

Beautiful park. Extremely crowded campsites with way too much foot traffic to enjoy the outdoors. In addition, the employees disrespected the quiet hours hanging out talking to each other with motor vehicles running into the late night. Never pulled up to a campground to be so enchanted by the look of things to be so disappointed as my stay progressed. Planned to be there the whole weekend and made it thru one night then bailed. I will not be back.

Posting as a RV camper in the middle of winter so consider that perspective on the rating. It had tons of space to choose from which is great. It also had plenty of room to roam around and enjoy being outdoors. I imagine it's fun to play by the creek when it's warmer. It also has lots of interesting stuff to discover about the history.

But the big drawback is the number of permanent residents in the campground of a state park? There are numerous long time residents camped out there and treating it like they own it (and not well I mean). The park obviously is allowing campers to stay for months and months and months or more at a time and set up a home like an old trailer park.
